I had accupuncture for about 2 or 3 months, every week. The accupuncture Dr. told me also that Belly Button rings seriously block CHI along the conception median and that I should take that out. I am desperate and figured it would need to go with the bump anyway so did that too. I started in month 5 and am now at month 11 ttc #1........nothing, so laying off accupuncture for now it was costly. Will still keep the belly button ring out, just in case.

I wonder if other ladies have the same 5 needles put in? My lady put in 1 on each wrist and ankle, and 1 around the uterus area.
I get one in each lower part of the leg, two in my belly and one each in my wrists! I am a big fan of acupuncture and the difference in how I feel is very noticable. You have to remember that they treat the body as a whole and and the aim is to get it balanced so eveything works in harmony. Some people find it may take longer to notice the effects, but it just may be that you body was further out of wack that the person who found it worked quickly. Its not just your reproductive organs that need to be intune for you to conceive, liver and kidneys also play an important roll, if these things are in less than perfect order then it may take a bit more time to get the body back to functioning how its meant to. I aso took my belly button ring out!

I have acupuncture and think it is fab! When I started I was told that it can take 3 months before I notice any difference, I have now been going weekly for 5 months and think it is fab. I have scans to track my follicals and have really noticed a difference, my follicals grow quicker (ready for hcg jab on day 13 instead of 15/16,) plus last month I had 2 follicals. My lining is also better, my periods use to be really really heavy with hugh clots (tmi) now they are just heavy but blood is free flowing.
I have also been taking Royal jelly so dont know how much is down to that a well, but know acupuncture has def. helped!

I only get 1 needle in my uterus/belly area, and not the nicest feeling when she has to twist the needle a bit! Since today is CD1, I have to call her to arrange further appointments from CD7 onwards... It is quite costly but I hope it will make a difference in the long run.

I do agree with you, WannaB, that my body will probably take longer to sort out. Since my laparoscopy a few yrs back, my period has been much lighter, more clotty or mucous like, and always come with cramps. Hope the acupuncture will help with that too!

I am really pleased to read these positive comments about accupuncture as I am going for my first session next week. I had 13 reflexology sessions from Jan to June this year and although it was relaxing I didn't feel it did an awful lot for me. So after a miscarriage in Aug I have booked an accupuncture session and am prepared to give it a good try.

I was delighted to read some of your accupuncturists had taken note of ur temps charts. When I seen a hospital gyno earlier in the year she said charting was not reliable and to forget it but it gives me piece of mind to chart so I do any way. This month I am plotting my 13th chart so now I am really hoping they too may be of help to my accupuncturist - I'll have to print them off FF.

I'll be happy if accupuncture even helps with my mood swings some of which is to do with ttc and partly also PMT. The accupuncturist I have choosen also works for a private fertility clinic which I thought was a good sign she knows her stuff.

I find it quite strange that your gyno said charting wasnt reliable! The only way it wouldnt be is if you wernt doing it correctly and I highly doubt that is the case! Good luck with your visit they can do wonders, I had no idea my liver wasnt working up to par until I saw mine and he picked it on day one from looking at my tongue! After I read up on symptoms of a sluggish liver I found I had many other signs that matched perfectly! I had been to seen the regular doc about my fatigue and she took bloods to look at my iron stores and they came back fine, her repsonse was that I just work to hard and thats why I was tired all the time and sent me packing! Wrong! The difference has been remarkable since seeing the acupunturist, he also gave me herbs to clense and support my liver, I did a liver flush as well, and 99% of the symptoms I had have gone, I didnt really realise I had them tbh, just had gotten so use to how I felt that I thought it was normal. If thats the only thing I get out of seeing him it has been well worth it!
