FF is driving me INSANE.

So, my chart's a little nutty. I can live with this. And I can't do anything about the fact that I randomly wake up between four and five really ridiculously often anyway, so. This is where I am. Most of the temps are adjusted, and a good number of them are over an hour off. But the pattern was clear enough for FF to definitively mark ovulation just where I thought it should be: CD16, when I got my second CBFM peak, plus a tiny bit of cramping, and later on, a tiny bit of spotting.

And then, today, it moved. It put ovulation on CD20 (dotted, not solid) which would be in line with previous cycles: this is my third cycle with the CBFM, and for the first two, I had six days of highs before getting a peak reading. This month, I got one high, and then it moved straight on to peak. (My cycles are definitely somewhat irregular: since I've been keeping track, they've been 30 days, 34 days, and this one, I thought, was on track for 31 days.)

The thing about CD20, though, is that there's a dip there (I have no explanation) but discarding that temp changes the status back to ovulation not detected, despite the CBFM readings and the obvious rise in temps.

I really don't want to think that the CBFM has screwed up. In its defense, today's temp seems oddly high for me and wasn't taken under ideal conditions: 98.34 at 4:59 after restless sleep and the same at 6:04 after less than an hour of sleep. So that might be throwing FF off. But either of the adjusted temperatures (98.59 and 98.37) cause the shift to CD20, and discarding the temp causes FF to not detect ovulation at all.

I don't even know what to think. Who's got it wrong here? FF? My CBFM? Any suggestions appreciated, because I don't have a clue!

(My FF chart is in my signature, and I've tried to attach a pic of the chart with nothing entered for today and ovulation where I hope it should be.)

If you wake up at odd times and dont sleep all that well i just wonder whether its just best to stick the the CBFM rather then worrying about your temps.

This month i had to temp as im of to have my 7dpo test done today, if it wasn't for that then i just use my machine, as i always ov on the second peak

Yeah, I definitely see your point, especially as it just seems to be causing confusion right now. It's kind of a vicious cycle, though: now I'm not feeling like I can completely trust the CBFM, so I'm going to have to keep temping!

I have yet to use by CBFM as bought it after first miscarriage and then got up the duff again only to miscarry again!

I would agree with FF that it looks like you ov'd on day 20 but perhaps try another method if temping is inconclusive. Have you tried saliva monitoring? I have a tester thing that shows a clear ferning pattern pre-ov. They're really cheap and easy to use.

Sorry to hear that things haven't worked out for you so far!

IDEK what's going on with my chart. I'm inclined to agree with you, that FF choosing CD20 isn't completely unreasonable. Looking at the pattern, it makes sense... except for the CBFM peak readings 4-5 days earlier. The possibility of the CBFM being wrong is freaking me out, because honestly, what good is it if it's inaccurate?

I do have a scope kicking around somewhere, from the last time we were TTC, maybe five years ago. I was never able to see any ferning, but it couldn't hurt to pull it out and try again.
