Question

help! whats going on...

hi girls, so like i said in my last post, af was 6 days late last month. thats going by a 29 day cycle that ive had steadily for about a year. Today i was 6 days late again and got me I'm numb but i was expecting it...

anyway, bypassing my feelings over af's arrival, what do you thinkn is hapening? do you think im just late twice? or that my cycle is getting longer. if so would that mean o is in a different place, day wise?
*sigh* confused.
ideas...?

firstly, so sorry the got you..

secondly, being new to this site (but not TTC or other similar forums) I'm not familiar with your story so my apologies if i'm asking a defunct question, but - how long have you been off BC for?

this can have such a huge hangover effect on your cycles

are you charting?

no im not charting, i made a concious decision not to- i think i would drive myself mad with it. we've only been trying for 2 months, but i wasnt on the pill or anything, just condoms. but both those months ive been so late. its weird.
thanks for your reply, and dont worry, no one really knows my story, ive been lurking here for a while, only just started posting recently.

O man, so sorry hon. I'm scared mine's coming too. It's so confusing, my AFs used to be so predictable - why do they go crazy when we all start trying? So cruel!

It might just be that your cycles are becoming longer. If I were you, I'd invest in some OV predictor kits (CB ones are £20, or Boots are cheaper) just to get an idea of when you're OVing or at least track your CM. Either way, make sure you BD every 2/3 days from when your AF finishes just to cover all ground. And now you've been 'late' 2 months, u can relax if the same happens next month. If it does, adjust your cycle length cos it's probably changed if this happens 3 months in a row.

yeah, what i was thinking i'd do was just BD reglarly this month and myb a bit more around the 2 probable o days (one for a 29d cycle, one for a 35d cycle) and not expect af til 35 days, and if i get it again at 35 days i'll take that as a settled 35d cycle and buy a monitor to work out how long the leutial (sp?) phase is now... and ofc if af doesnt come next time then none of this will matter anyway lol

So sorry to hear the got you. It could be that your cycle is getting longer or it could be that the stress of TTC is doing strange things to your cycle (it happens more than you'd think!). Good luck

Hey Pixie, sounds like maybe your cycle has become a bit longer. Mine have changed from 28 day cycles to 38/39 day cycles but thats since i came off pill 8 months ago. You havent been on pill i know but i would start counting by your new longer cycle dates if trying to work stuff out. Even if you dont chart as such, like Trixielox said ovulation kits might help you a bit so at least if your cycle does vary at leats youll know when you ov'd. Im using them at the mo and finding it easier. Hope it all works out, sorry about the witch, she got me too xxx

I think there are pros and cons to charting. You are kind of driving yourself a little mad now too by wondering if your O is in a different spot where as if you were charting you would know. My suggestion is to use OPKs if you don't want to chart to get an idea of if you are O'ing at a different time. Sorry about the witch. She got me too!
