Why did I do it?

It's my first month TTC. AF is due in 5 days so this morning I decided to take a First Response Early Result test which is supposed to tell you 5 days before your period. Got up at 6am took the test, lights were a bit dim, saw only one line. Put the test away and went back to bed for two hours. Looked at it again as I was getting ready for work and there was a very faint line! Now I don't know if in my sleepy haze, I didn't see that line when I took the test initially because it is very faint or if it appeared about an hour later and is invalid because you're not supposed to read the test after 3 minutes. What does this mean?????? Grrr. It was pretty faint so I am waiting til friday morning to test again. Will let you know the outcome. Has anyone else done this or is it just crazy old me?

Wow, I'd say test again. I use the FRER tests all the time & have never had a second line!!

Really? Thats encouraging! Thanks dan-o.

Have you ever left the test then came back to it and saw a line? Maybe I will test again tomorrow morning, it was quite faint so if I tested now it probably would not show up... hopefully my hcg levels will be up a bit more tomorrow.

I say test again in a few days
FRER actually say that they can work up to 5 days before you missed period....which is actually 4 days before the day your period is due.

You see I never get these evap lines theories....

I have a 4 year old daughter - I still have the pregnancy tests that I had with her and guess what - the lines are still there.... I think I might post them on here, cos I find it hard to believe that they can disappear?? I only got them out the other day - and I did 3 in all - two were positive and one wasn't and the lines are just as clear as they were in January 2005!!!

So, I say do another in the morning when you are a bit more awake, or better still give it a couple more days and you will have a very clear line - here's hoping its your

hun.

Just had a peek at the box NGRidley and it says 6 days before you first missed period and 5 days before your period is due. Anywho, it's my first month TTC so Im still a bit unsure of my dates anyways plus my period is quite irregular regardless so who knows where I am. 5 days til AF is just an educated guess.

Am going to try to hold off til friday to test again ... but with 3 FRER tests left, I will probably cave and try again tomorrow. Thanks ladies.

I never got a 2nd line until my faint ones. If you get another in the time limit, it's a

I did the same thing last month with my FRER... I came back to it well after the 10 minute period and there was a faint, but nice, pink line. Unfortunately I was BFN even though the witch was late that month... it was either an evap or I had a chemical.

Good luck!!! I hope that you have better luck that I did and I'm sending tons of baby dust!
