I'm Currently Feeling: | OPK's to predict BFP? Just wondering, I've done some research and found that it is possible that an OPK can predict a pregnancy. I've been to the site that shows pictures and explains that it's often later in the cycle that it does show a positive OPK (often after a HPT would anyway). I'm just curious:
Has anyone ever used an OPK to test for pregnancy? Reason I ask is I did a test tonight, main reason is I only have one Preg test left and didn't want to waste it on evening "wee". It was a definite line, not dark enough to be a positive, but darker than what it should be for this time of my cycle. It's all very confusing because my Gyno says I have a condition that prevents me from ovulating. Ok, so I'm thinking, could he be wrong? As my AF is heading into 5 days late. (bare in mine that AF is not late as a rule). I'm thinking it could also be the stress of the past few days thats causing her to be late.
If I was to use an OPK, (I have a bucket load of those, so I don't mind wasting a few), should I use FMU instead of evening? Because I know it's important to use FMU with HPK, so I'm assuming it would be the same if you're using OPK, because you are testing for pregnancy?
Sorry, I got a little long winded....Just curious. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Did you check out the "OPK used as HPT" section on peeonastick.com ? I'm no expert about this but according to websites it's possible. |

| You can do it, but by using an Ovulation test, you won't be 100% sure because the OPK will pick up both HCG (Pregnancy Hormone) and LH (Hormone detected prior to ovulation) and theres no way of knowing which hormone the OPK has detected.
The only way to be sure is by using a Pregnancy test, because a pregnancy test doesn't pick up LH, only HCG. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I wouldn't 100% rely on it...you can get darker lines on opks the more concentrated your pee is... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | OPK had one dark line and one faint line!!!!!!!!!! Now i am no expert but, i got my OPK yesterday and did a test on CD13 and i got a big ZERO, so first thing this morning my eyes weren't even open i did another test and again got a big ZERO, but i took the test out of the digital case and i had one dark line and a very faint but very faint second line, held it up to window and saw the finest line there. Now here in South Africa, the test stick you place in the ClearBlue Digital OPK test, is exactly the same PG test of Clearview that we get here in SA. This is scambling my brains. Now i don't know if you also had one dark line and one faint line??????????????? |

| Hi,
I would definately try a preg-test. I had dark lines on some O tests I did, for a few consecutive days. I thought that how can I be ovulating for so long, and I did a preg-test this morning and got a bfp!
I have suspected that I'm pregnant for about 4 weeks not, and had both bfns and bfps.
So although I am ultra excited, I am going to the drs today (pee-stick in my hand) to see if he can send me for a scan.
