NZ Maternity advice Help!!

So we are ttc at the moment and are moving to NZ (Auckland) in March next year, i'm hoping we will be moving with a bump. My DH is a kiwi and i'm just full of PMA at the moment and hoping that i do have a bump, and wondering what maternity care is like in NZ. Do you have to pay for it, or is there something like the NHS over here in the UK. Also do you know how many scans i would have to for.. Just thinking of timing etc...

If anyone has experienced it before it would be great to here from you, my DH has been over here in the UK for 10 years now, so can't really remember what hospitals etc are like back home..

sorry I won't be a lot of help but we spent about two years there and what an amazing country! I did work in the hospital when I was there but was never anything to do with maternity stuff. The hospitals where I worked though were really nice, I think they have a similar system, some "NHS" type care and some private hospitals too..I would think the maternity stuff would be covered by the government.

Have a brilliant time, a great place to bring up kids xx
