WOW, have you been seen by a DR? Are your cycles usually this irregular? You may need to have your cycle and ovulation induced? Do you have PCOS? Just wondering because that seems weird outside of PCOS. I have it and thats how my cycles use to be when I wasnt TTCing. Good luck and see a DR.

Aw that really sucks that your cycles are being so long. What were your cycles like before that? My cycles have been getting progressively longer throughout the year since I stopped BCP in Jan. Not quite as long as 100 days but my last one was 77 and the one before that was 63. Amazingly AF came the day after we decided to officially start TTC so am on CD 14 of cycle 1 and am hoping so bad that things start to get a bit more normal as I will be so crushed if my next one is even longer.

Have you been to see your doctor yet about this? x

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Prior to being on BCP I was always irregular(rarely to this extent). In 2004 I had ultrasound which showed appearance of some cysts on ovaries but my hormone profile done at the time indicated that all hormones were within normal range. I was told I could be borderline PCOS. Being younger and not TTC I didnt really do much research into it.

After 4 yrs on Pill I came off to TTC. Have been to Doctor for bloods to check hormone levels and again all within average range with no significant elevated testosterone(a key factor in diagnosing PCOS apparantly) Spoke to her about jump-starting AF and she said she could give me something to bring on a bleed but that it wouldn't stimulate ovulation. To do that would involve a more complex blend of hormones which would play havoc with the natural rhythm my body is trying to establish. Do you think that's Bulls*%t??

Now that you have been diagnosed with PCOS KC what have you been doing to help the TTC process?

Hi

Thought I'd share my post pill experience with you. My cycles have been 34, 55, 89, 81, 51, 36 and 41. I am now on CD 22 and I ovualted on CD 17 which means I'm heading for a 30ish day cycle - shortest so far. So just wanted to give people hope that there is a chance they will shorten eventually. I find it amazing that the pill can affect you for soooo long but don't see what else it can be as my cycles certainly weren't like this before the pill.

I know how frustrating long messed up cycles are - waiting forever and a day just to ovulate. So heres hoping all your cycles sort themselves out soon and even better BFP's all round.

CJ x

Yes I think that last statement is BS!!! I dont understand how it would mess up anything! Since I have been diagnosed with PCOS, they have put me on metformin 2000mgs + clomid 150 mgs. With metformin alone it has started my cycles again on their own. What the MET does is desensitizes your ovaries making the egg relaease for you to ovulate. It works in most women but not all. The first AF i had in september was induced with Provera but in October 8 my cycle came on its on, which let me know that I have 34 day cycles. I think knowing when my cycles are will make it easier for us to get BFP. I would probably try another DR that takes your TTC very serious. I was going to my OBGYN and she moved me on to a fertility specialist after 2 cycles, because she wants me to get my BFP and she didnt want to waste my time. Im praying for you:-).
