So, how many months have you been ttc? and how old are you? have you had any check up by the doc to see if there are any problems? If you're under 35 they usually say a year of ttc is normal.

I would definitely say NO to using clomid without a doc, when I was on it, I was monitored every month 4-6 times with a vag u/s because it has some nasty possible complications like ovarian swelling which can cause serious problems.

Herbal things, like Vitex and Fertilaid can be used with advice from a health food store, though. But, there's nothing like an overall check up of both of you to really understand what you're dealing with!

No! You require a proper diagnosis and proper monitoring. In the UK you cant get clomid without a prescription. No doubt elsewhere you could buy online, however it would be downright foolish to consider this as you require careful monitoring.

Going to the dr is scary but not as scary as your ovaries twisting or hyperstimulation or soem equally awful scenario that leaves you in hospital. Good luck hun. XX

Can you? I guess you can. Do I suggest it? No way! There are plenty of women who use it unprescribed... but it's not a great idea to play with fertility meds without a doctor. If you don't need it, you could do more harm than good by taking it. That could be worse than anything you have going on right now.

I was terrified of going to the doctor too. I had been bleeding almost daily for 2+ years, and I was sure that a doctor would tell me that I was dying. But, I sucked it up and went. 5 stupid little pills later and it was all better. My fear made me lose 2+ years of TTC a child that I desperately want. It was just a hormonal imbalance!

I know you don't know me from a can of paint (a co-worker I had used to say that and it cracks me up)... but it's not worth it! Whatever you're worried about... having a doctor check you over is better than possibly making your life a living hell. I don't mean to scare you, but if you don't need Clomid, you could end up with OHSS... which can lead to hospitalization and a long stint of WTT!

If you can give me some more insight into what you have going on, I might be able to put your mind at ease about what you're likely to hear from a doctor. But, I don't recommend taking fertility meds without a prescription. And, in the end, if you still want to hold off on going to a doctor... maybe we can help you come up with some natural solutions to combat whatever you might have happening.

Welcome to the board, btw! I hope your stay in TTC is short and sweet! I'm Megg... and I'm always happy to help!

You're very welcome! You very well might be able to hold off on going to the doctor just yet! There is a lot of knowledge contained in this board, and we could possibly give you some natural solutions to common issues.

If you'd like us to try and help, the following info might be good to know:

Do you BBT chart?
Do you use OPKs or a monitor?
Are your cycles regular?
Do you have any other children or have you ever been pregnant?
Do you know if/think you are ovulating?
Does your husband have any children?
Any issues that you have questions about (ie pain, bleeding, etc)?

Feel free to ignore all of that if you aren't intersted, but the more info we have, the better prospect there is of helping you without necessarily involving a doctor... or at least determining the importance of a doctor in your situation. Many couples try for years without realizing that they're simply timing it wrong. So, it could be something VERY simple that would help.

I hope you find the answers you're looking for, and we're all happy to do what we can! to you!

BBT chart is where you record your temperature every morning immediately upon waking up but before moving about at all. The temps can tell a clear story about your cycles. You said that mucus and body temperature tell you when you O, so do you do this already?

This might sound personal, so ignore it if you like. But, are your periods very heavy? And, is sex ever painful? Just following a tiny spark of a possible theory here...
