3rd cycle of Clomid

Hi there,
I am new to this so please bear with me as I don't know all the abbreviations yet!
I have unexplained infertility.
I already have a son who is nearly 2 years old. When i tried to get pregnant, my husband and I were trying for four years. I had many tests and a lap and dye and was eventually given clomid. I fell pregnant in my last cycle, whilst having reflexology and using chinese medicine. My husband and I had already looked into IVF, but luckily didn't need it.
After I gave birth to my beautiful son, the doctors assured me I wouldn't have problems again as my 'body would know what to do now'. However, my husband and i have now been trying for a second child for 10 months now and history is repeating itself.
I am on my third and last cycle of clomid and beginning to loose hope! I was wondering if anyone knew what the next step would be?I am worried the only option left is IVF.
I know i am truely blessed to have my little boy, but I would really love another.
Sorry I have been ranting, but getting so frustrated with my own body not doing what it is supposed to be doing that i just need to vent somehow!
I look forward to hearing from anyone who is in the same boat as i am or for advise.
Thanks

Most people go to IUI before IVF. It's more cost effective, and less invasive. I don't know how much you know about IUI, but basically you would likely be put on injectable fertility meds, and then have a CD12 u/s to see where you are on follicular growth. Your husband would give a sperm sample, which would be washed to remove unnecessary semen and any sperm that weren't up to snuff. When the doctor felt you had good follicles, you would be given a trigger shot to instigate ovulation with 24-48 hours. You would then go in for 2 insemination procedures. I believe they are about 24 hours apart. They would use a small catheter and slip it through your cervix. They would then insert the best of the best from the sperm sample your husband had given them. It's not quite as severe as IVF, as there is no egg harvesting or anything like that. I hope you don't need a "next step" though! to you!

Hi, i am new to the forum but not new to ttc. I was on clomid for 6mths and although it worked i never got pregnant due to my ex's issues.. but also remember that it can take up to a yr for a fertile couple to conceive as its such a complex process anyway, what with the timing, implantation etc etc ;-) dnt loose hope and good luck x
