WHY arnt they positive???

Well i thought a awhile ago that i was getting O' pains. But i was takin the OPK's and they were negative..? Now im supposably 6 days away from testing and i feel like i got Ripped off! How come i'v been getting all negative OPK's? I even got negatives around the time my ticker said i should be Ovulating.

You cant rely on OPKs and your ticker alone hun. Also not everyone gets along with OPKs. My sister peed on then for a full month and didnt get a thing.
I dont use them myself yet, but I'm sure someone will be along soon with some more advice.

Mervs Mum is right. Some gals just don't seem to get anything from them (I think I'm one of them but then it doesn't help that I've lost my bloody OV stick, think the dog's ate it!!!).

I personally find tracking my CM the best bet. So when your CM is particularly stringy and 'wet', that's the time to BD. No BFP 4 me yet though (on 3rd cycle) so we'll see if that method works. x

I used them only in my first month of trying and found I got two light test lines on the first 2 days of using them. I was so excited and kept testing waiting for them to get darker and ... on the 3rd day of using them, the lines disappeared altogether. I tested every day from then on, once mid morning and once early evening and got nothing. No more hints of tints or anything from them, so I've sacked them.

Someone else had the same experience and posted here saying that she contacted the manufacturer, who told her that in the case of 5% of women, they do not work at all. They don't publish this fact, so it's worth considering whether you are in the 5% or not. The only way to tell is to keep trying them for maybe 3 months.

Best of luck as I know these things are really frustrating.

I'm still using opks but I'm seriously thinking about quitting, I have never gotten a positive...and when I took the test results from my data on FF, I got a cross line showing a definite ovulation! So hmmm

I have used them before and I have always gotten a positive. However I feel like the best way to track your O is by FF charting your temps and you CM. Personally I feel like the OPK's really can give a false sense of security. We have been TTC for 8 months. I used the OPK's like 2 months but I think temp charting and CM is the best way. Good luck and I hope we all get a ! Sending everyone a bunch of

I have never used opk's but this month I started charting my waking temps and CM, I think that's pretty reliable. When your CM looks egg white-y (like streaked or clear and stretchy and really wet that's the ideal time to get bd'ing). maybe you O'd early this month? That's why you were getting - on your OPK's then and even now? Good luck for when you test hun!
