Why Is My Temp So Low AF got me! - Official Thermometer Hate Thread, Join Us!

Just a quick question... because I'm so confused.

My first thermometer wasn't a BBT, and it made my chart all ugly. So, I got a new one to finish out the month with. I was expecting a temp jump this morning, but didn't quite get that. It went up... a little.

So, I decide to take my temp this afternoon for fun... See what it says. I get a 97.63. I did it a little earlier and got a 97.58 or so. It's 1 o'clock in the afternoon. WTF is wrong with me?

I even had my DH take his with it to prove to me that it registered in the 98 range. It does! So, it's really just me. Why?

temperatures during the day are pretty irrelevant and depend on so many things - the ambient temperature, what clothes you are wearing, when you've eaten, what activities you've been doing, hot drinks

Actually, that doesn't seem like an odd temp to me...have you Ov'd yet? Either way, it doesn't seem too weird to me. I know they say you can't go by a temp taken at a different time but I always did the same thing myself....

What day did you start using the new one? You did say the first one was inaccurate so possibly you just have low temps naturally??

I have low temps as a consequence of having hypothyroidism. Even though I have low temps I still get a temp raise after ovulation. But my raise takes me to the average Joe's normal daily temp.

I started using it on CD 19. My chart is linked in my siggy!

I thought O was yesterday, but today my temp is still low... soooo, maybe it's today? I don't know. That's so long after my + OPK.

I wasn't going to use an afternoon temp for my chart or anything, I just thought I'd see what my temperature was... I get bored and am entertained easily!

Hi Megg - I would not worry as I have the same - the info is that your day temps should be higher than the temp you take when you first wake up - wrong! My morning temp is always higher than any temps I subsequently take throughout the day.........

Looks fine to me hun.

Temp will probably go up a lot more tomorrow.

Megg - stop stressing on that thermometer! I've been stalking your FF chart everyday and it looks to me like you Od on CD20/21 - and your temp is rising! It also looks like you well times your BD - so just sit back and wait for the two more temps to take you into the 2WW

Hi megg, I am not getting the temp thing. my temps indicated that I didnt ov last month (ignore the chart, I entered temps to play around with the ov date) and my 21 day bloods came back and I had a result of 47. Def ovulated, but the temp was so low. I dont get it.

I ditched one thermom, but I really dont get the whole temp thing and I have been doing it for 6 mths....
