Ovulation in long cycles?

I just have a small question?? My cycles are so varied... even whilst I am on Clomid. I do not temp anymore because when I did my temps were all over the place. My last cycle was 51 days, the one before was 55 and the one before was 28... my question is this: if I am having such long cycles will I be ovulating very very late... for example 55 day cycle = o about 14 days before so it will be day 41??

I am sorry if I sound completely thick... I just don't know an easy way to work out when I will O, and I can't afford to buy an opk this month .

My friend had the same problem. She was eventually put on clomid but...she also used a clear blue fertility monitor. She said it really helped to pin point the days to BD. Even though clomid would affect the monitor and only give her "high" readings some time she still got pregnant! I wish you the best of luck. I would highly recommend a CBFM to someone with varying cycles like yours.

Yes ovulation would be as late as day 41 in a 55 day cycle as you count back from when AF arrived to see when ovulation was...however as your cycles are irregular, going by Day 41 each month as a guide to approx ovulation wouldn't be viable. The best way for you to identify your most fertile point in your cycle is to note your Cervical Fluid. The wetter the CM the better, and egg white CM is the most fertile type of CM, so if you notice that, drag your OH off to bed!
