I'm sure there are a few of us hoping for our babies to be a particular sex - I would love a little boy as I have a daughter - but the usual applies and I'll be happy with a healthy baby of either sex.

I've seen various websites claiming to give you the secrets to help you ensure you conceive the sex of your choice - most of them charge you for their services......

Does anyone have any experience of these websites or know of anyone who has and how did it work out?? And what have you heard about in terms of things you can do to help you conceive your prefered sex if you have one....

I've googled some of these sites that charge you and most ppl say it's just crap. Like you, I'm happy as long as the baby is healthy, don't mind another girl at all

If you buy TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR FERTLITY there is a section in there about it. I am not sure if I am a beleiver, I also have a girl and we conceived her 5 days before I actually Oed. I thought I had no chance to get a BFP that month. According to my chart I should have had a girl adn that is what I had. My OB/GYN says the whole shettles method is a bunch of crap, she mainly feels that way becuase she has 4 boys and after the first boy they tried for a girl, but ended up with four boys. I beleive it has to do with how your body reactions to DH's sperm, how much acid is in your uterus to make certain soerm die off. TCOYF says that BOY sperm swims faster but are not as durable that is why if you BD very close to Oing you are more likely to have a boy and GIRL sperm swims slower but lives longer, that is why if you BD further away from O you will have a girl. Not sure if I beleive all that.

I thought the baby's sex was determined at the moment of conception? How would anything change it?

Something my DH told me about working on the flightline with airplanes. The guys that work with radars are warned that the radiation and such that radars give off can kill off Y chromosome sperm and so most likely they will produce only daughters.

I have known a few to do the shettlers one and it has worked.

For a girl you bd 4-5 days before ov, then on day 3 before ov and thats it no bd until af comes ( or not hopefully ) but apprently this one takes women longer to get pregnant doing this method.
Also the female sperm like acidic conditions which is why they are able to cope with the tacky & creamy type cm, they also last longer in the womb.

You need to do missionary for a girl.

Now for a boy you can only bd on the day you get a surge, the day of ov and the day after and then thats it until your af comes ( hopefully not! )
The male sperm prefer alkaline conditions, you have much more alkaline conditions when your at your wet/ stringy and EWCM stage, its very favourable for all the sperm, especialy the male sperms.
Also you need to do doggy.
They are faster but may only last a day at the most depending on the type of cervical fluid, more women get pregnant this way but its only a 65% chance of success rate for a boy doing this method, it all comes down to your OHs spermies.
You have to know your cycle and signs very well to succeed.

Also getting you OH to drink caffeen 30 mins before excites sperm and they swim slighty faster ( I dont know how true that is )

But like I said the women I know who have done exactly what was said all of them got the sex they wanted, actualy all apart from one who didnt follow it strictly like the rest but also her partner had a low sperm count.

Interesting to say the least, but to be honest if you want a child bad enough you will do it whenever and hope for the best, I am on and off about it, it would be nice to have a boy next as I have a daddies little girl, but if I have another girl so be it, I will enjoy nursing that one just as much x
