So, is it for women who have trouble ovulating? Are they tablets? If you have regular ovulation, then, is it not necessary?

Yeah clomid is for ladies who have problems with ovulation. It helps the body produce the hormones needed for ovulation. You take it for 5 days early in your cycle and it can be taken in different doses depending on how you respond.

Some specialists seem to prescribe clomid even if you are ovulating as some think it 'boosts' regular ovulation. But I think the majority of specialists would agree that clomid is pointless if you are already ovulating. I've had 5 cycles and no success so it's not all it's cracked up to be for some

If you ovulate on your own clomid isn't necessary. Yes they are tablets.

Actually, Clomid can be used even if you ovulated but do not have a very strong ovulation. It can increase the number of eggs released, as well as the maturity of those eggs. I've even seen it used for women who ovulate but their DH has a low sperm count... some doctors believe that releasing more eggs that are more mature will give the sperm that is available more targets... so to speak. Of course, they treat the man as well... but some have gone that route to increase the odds each cycle. I even saw some cases of Clomid being prescribed to men... didn't read exactly what for or how it helps, but it can be given to men as well.

Hope that helps!
