Morning Ladies

I am now 48 days since last period I came off my pill in October and have two periods since once 28 days and one 37 days. I did a pregnany test last Saturday morning fmu and it was negative. I was shocked as I honestly thought that I was but not sure if I was convincing myself with symptons....went to see dr on Monday and he wasn't much use not that I expected him to be but that I had to wait until my period came and then count 21 days from there and then go to hospital for a blood test to make sure I am producing hormones.

Is this normal for a period to be completely rubbish?? I know it is probably after coming off the pill but still feel really confused and boy the hormones are all over the place poor hubby!!

any advice would be really appreciated!

from my personal experience this is normal after coming off bcp, my cycles have been anything from 36 -24 days, on my 5th cycle now and not had one the same yet. How long was you on bcp? i was on it 11 years and i've read it can take up to 9 months to regulate.

thanks for your post! i was on it for the same time as you 11 years and I guess it just means our bodies are trying to get back into some normality and I guess being on the bcp our bodies got into a routine and now they have to work at it to get it back to normal!

It is annoying though isn't it and curse myself for being on the pill now

Actually after kids DH should have a vasectomy let them do their bit!! ahh that sounds a bit cruel doesn't it! I know my cousin made her DH hubby have one for the exact reason! she said it was the least he could do

yeah you get like that when its a long cycle, for me Nov cycle was 34 days and Dec 30 days so im hoping this motnh'll be the same as i think i have ovulated when my ticker says for once!!

Have you been using the o kits? I am thinking I might try using them but I guess with periods being completely out is hard to know when you are and when to test? have you used them since you came off the pill?

That's very common after coming off of the pill. Sometimes it can take your body a few months to adjust to not having the hormones in its system. Good luck! I hope you get your soon!

Thanks Vickie! Is just soooo annoying waiting this long for AF to arrive! it is 49 days since last period today not quite sure what to do if it still hasn't come next week!

i've been using opk's on and off but never had a positive although i ran out of them right before what i think was ov this time and only got some more yesterday. Definately will use properly next month though
