Off topic, How do you plan to tell your family about BFP?

I always think when I get my BFP how I will tell them. The first time I told my Mom first with a card of my Dog saying she was going to be a BIG SISTER. the rest of the family we just told, my Mom made me go from hosue to house to tell. It was crazy. When we told my IL's they came over to see our new kitchen floor at our old house and we kind of just told me, GUess what we are pregnant. Nothing too exciting.

I am not sure yet, I will probably tell my Mom first again and maybe get my DD involved, them move to my dad and sister. The my ILs then slowly people will start to find out.

You, maybe I can get some more exciting ideas. Still holding out for HOPE

I will run around my whole town with my BFP test in a baggie to show to everyone I know.

Then I would call all my friends back in California where I grew up since everyone had know that Jack and I have been trying on and off for 9 years. Basically, I will be hysterical.

(I'm such a dork.)

DH and I live half way across the USA from his family, and my family is in a whole different country. We don't get to see them often (once a year if we're lucky, and as for my family we have not seen them for 3 years). Most likely i will call the in-laws on the phone. As for my family...i have no idea because we've never really been on good terms and i feel weird to talk with them.

I think I will wait until I am on my second tri to tell them.

If I get my BFP in the next couple of months, I might be into the 2nd tri around summer time, and that's when we will be heading to visiting our families.

I had a dream, like 2 days ago, that we travelled to see our families on summer (that's when we always take our annual leave) and that I just went out of the car and my mom saw my baby bump and she started to cry and my MIL started to scream from happiness (After 2 miscarriages they will be so happy).. and then one of DH's family members shouts loud and says "what r u having?!", DH shouts "a girl"

I have always dreamed of having a boy first.. but now, oh wow, I dont care, I just want a baby of my own.

I hope that dreams comes true! I hope we conceive soon so that I am showing and already know what we are having when we have our annual leave/visit.

i honestly don't know what ill do, id like to tell my Mum straight away but my Dad died in July 07 and i wouldn't want her to suffer another loss as she is soooooooooo excited about being a Grandma. My parents had me later in life due to infertility probs so my Mum is 65 now even though im 27 and shes just longing to be a Grandma as most of her friends are now

I didn't get to tell many people. I phoned my sister and told her before I'd even told OH. Then he walked in the room. I phoned my nan I think the next day as I'm quite close to her after living with her for about 5 years but told her not to tell my mum as I knew she'd only over react and become a problem if anything went wrong. I was scared if I m/c'ed she'd react like she had in the past, making it out to be the end of the world which is the last thing you need when trying to deal with your own grief.

Of course my nan told my mum anyway and then pretended she's just guessed & my mum went and told everyone. All the rest of the family and everyone in the village where she lives.

I'll tell my mum straight away (I keep her up-to-date with stuff anyway and she'd know if I didn't get my AF) and my sister in law and possibly one of my cousins (and one of my mates but not all of them). But wouldn't tell the rest till my 12-week scan. Just in case. Wouldn't wanna put my nan and grandad thru that if I did MC. I wouldn't tell them in any special way, just with a big fat smile on my face and waterproof mascara! My whole family is waiting with baited breath (all my female cousins have had a zillion kids by the age of 25! So there was disbelief that I didn't when I was 22!). x

I've thought about doing cool things like giving my parents an empty photo frame with a note saying 'photo due on...' but I don't think I would be able to hold it in. I've decided I'll just go round to theirs and blurt it out so that I can see their immediate reaction. Then I'll phone my MIL as she lives quite far away. She'll scream with joy!! Can't wait!

Dh would know first then my mom. My mom has been through a m/c and the loss of a newborn child after carrying it full term so I think she will be great support if I did ever m/c. As for everyone else....I thnk I will wait. Work will not know until I am 3 months along at least.

I haven't really thought about it. Only how I would tell my DH. I think it will be really exciting since most people always ask us or want us to have kids. I would tell my parents and FIL right away but not really anyone else until I am further along. Like others have said, 12 weeks I think is good. Yeah, people at work don't really need to know until you start to show, really....But with a few people I am close with at work, I am sure I will tell them sooner than later.
