Info please!First symptoms?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for a test to show up positive if you are actually preggers?

I have polycystic ovaries so my ovulation/periods are all over the place;waiting til my next one could be 4/5 months down the line!

So yes any ideas?

Thanks very much guys!

If you are pregnant, the earliest it would show on a pregnancy test is 7 days past ovulation....but thats really early and women getting a positive HPT this early will be an exception to the rule- Most women will not get a positive pregnancy test until at least 14 days after ovulation.....So try testing now, if negative try again around 14 days after you last had sex.

To be honest...no.

I had a big operation in June last year (not anything vaguely related but it completely screwed up my body)...I came off the pill 3 weeks before that and stayed off for about 3 months....during which time there was no periods.....then started to get pre-period back pains but no period so my doctor put me on a different pill for 2 1/2 months to see if that made any difference but it didn't so I stopped taking that...it was called Dianette?

Since then haven't had any periods....see where my problem comes in judging when the hell I ovulate?

Yes, definaletly a toughy... I would follow the advice by the other poster and test around 7-10 days after you had sex last, if you continue to have sex, then you may want to keep testing every week until your AF comes... that may get costly... may want to look into getting bulk tests online.

Yeah, you wouldn't have any idea! - I used to have periods of no AF for months like this - I didn't have a period for 4 months after I got married and didn't know where the hell I was with my cycle. I resorted to testing with internet cheapies every week!

Yeah thats a good idea, if you take your Temperature when you wake tomorrow morning, you can tell if its a pre or post ovulatory temperature from that one reading. That way you will know whether you have ovulated and are awaiting AF, or are possibly pregnant - Or if you are still pre-ovulatory and are having an annovulatory cycle.

I agree with the others, test about 10 days after you have had sex. If you keep getting negatives and you are sure that you must be pregnant, you should go to your dr. who could do further tests. Good luck!
