I'm Currently Feeling: | Question about cycle / luetal phase As i am tryink OPK's this month and have still not had a positive i thought i would ask a question about my luetal phase. Although i can't be sure what this is (i'm going to try charting next cycle to work it out) if i do get a positive sometime soon on my opk's it may mean that i have a short luetal phase but i'm confused as i thought if you had this it makes it pretty impossible to conceive and i have conceived twice. It just had my worrying so any thoughts / info appreciated. |

| It depends on what you class as a short Leautal Phase - A LP of less than 9 days is not desirable as it can make concieving more difficult.
How many days do you think your Leutal Phase is? |

How many days do you think your Leutal Phase is? | I'm not exactly sure at the moment but af is due in 12 days and i've been using opk's since pretty much a week into my cycle and still haven't had a positive result so if i go by that i haven't yet ovulated unless i'm going to in the next couple of days |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Just read that link and it confirms that a short leutal phase can cause fertility problems as implantation can't take place so maybe i'm worrying over nothing! Will have to see what happens when i start charting maybe i'm just one of those people that opks' don't work for well the cheapy ones don't appear to if i have ovulated and it's not detected it! |

| I'm not an expert, but with the amount I have been reading, it won't be long before I am.
I have only been ttc for 2 and a bit months. The first month I used cheapie OPK's, but got a really feint test line the first 2 days of using them and then nothing to the end of my cycle. I didn't know what this meant at this stage.
Then, I bought a Clearblue Fertility Monitor and it asked me to test from CD6. It transpired that I ovulated around CD9 to CD10, which is very early in my cycle (which by the way is 24 days long).
If I O'd on CD9, then I would have a 15 day Leutal phase and if I O'd on CD10, my Leutal phase would be 14 days long. Both are considered normal.
That's all I know on this topic. Hope it helps in some small way. |
