My wife and myself have been looking around the internet now for months in regards to symptoms of pregnancy. She is 40 and I am 25. Just to let you know what is going on, her period was due on the 11th of January. On the 7th of January (Monday) she started bleeding this brown coloured mucus (4 days before her period). It only came out when she went to the bathroom and wiped herself. After a day (on Tuesday) it started changing colour to a more brighter red. We took a pregnancy test (clear blue pregnancy test, non-digital) and there is an ever so faint line. The bleeding got a little heavy on Tuesday evening and into Wednesday and she has only been using panty liners and pads (no tampons). On Thursday it was only bleeding when she wiped herself after using the toilet. Friday comes and it's supposed to be time for her period to start. Nothing came. It just continued to bleed only when she went to the bathroom. On Saturday, the bright red blood dissapeared and it went back to the brown mucus type bleeding only when she wiped after going to the bathroom.

Throughout the ordeal, prior to monday when the bleeding started she had sore breasts, lots of cramps two weeks before any bleeding even started. On the Tuesday she had a sharp bad pain gong down one of her legs and stopped later that night. Since the bleeding has stopped, she still experiences minor discomforting cramps in her abdomen, sometimes feels sick when she moves about, she can't stand some smells, such as peanut butter makes her feel sick, the smell is really strong. She has been having a lot of indigestion and heart burn as well. We took a second pregnancy test this morning (14-Jan-200 with another Clear Blue pregnancy test, and it came up with nothing, negative.

So, on brief...

Periods have been percise starting every 28 days.

Her period was due on the 11th of January, 4 days prior on the 7th of January, she experienced light bleeding for 7 days until the 13th of January, followed by minor cramps, feeling sick now and then, indigestion (heart burn).

Took pregnancy test on the 14th of January, showed negative (monday first thing in the morning the test was taken).

What's going on?


I forgot to mention, she has minor cramping pains in her lower abdomen that go from the left to the right side, back to the left and to the right again periodically.

it's a lot of going on and my best advice will be to go see a doctor.

How long have you been TTC - Stress can affect her cycles also.
i would see a GP, have you had a pre natal check up? that is always advised, just to make sure ya'll are in good health.

Have your wife keep testing every few days with First Morning Wee. If nothing, I would call the Dr and haver her get checked out.
