Hi,

I was on depo on and off for around 4-5 years, since my husband was away abroad so only had it when he was here,i wouldnt recommend it as a contraception device because i think it messed my system upa nd i didnt get periods for a good year odd after coming of it.

I still dont have regular periods even although i havent used anything for last 9 years nearly!!!!!

It stops your ovarys ovulating completely and mine havent woken up has yet, hence i dont ovulate at all,i have read real horror storys about it and wish i had before deciding to take it!!!

xx

Hi

sadly I was on the depo injection too I even posted a post myself as I was worried that it had messed up my insides and wanted to no if anyone had felt the same way as I did.

I stopped having the injection in march and its now august and I haven't had my periods at all me and my partner are ttc but with no luck obviously! I have two boys already one is 3 and the other is 2 so I know that we dont have a problem conceiving. I went to the doctors to see what was wrong as I had been getting really bad stomach cramps hot flushes (im only 26) and I also nearly fainted but the doctor just said to me that it was my body getting ready to start for my periods and that I should just wait! guess what? that was over a month ago and I'm still waiting!

I wish I had never even had the injection as its starting to really get me down and am constantly thinking about it

yes i was on depo for maybe a year 2 tops. Felt like crap lately but never have felt like this in the past. Depo provera is the worst decison i have ever made up til this point. Took Me from november to July just to get that stuff outta my sytem n just had my period in july. i have to wait til next week to take another pt. have been having a good amt of pregnancy signs. I no some sources say it can take a while to concieve while other sources say they concieved not like after they got their period back. My I have felt sick to my stomach, been eating like a hog, which I havent done much in the past 3 years, been having stomach cramps n sore breasts, and feeling dizzy on occassion with my headaches making it hard to concentrate, and aerolas on boobs are dark.not due for my period for sometime next week so im going to try another pt prolly monday or Wed.

Hi hun, I stopped having the depo last August- we've now been ttc for a year. It took us 15 months to get lucky with Keane. It can take upto 12 months for the depo to work it's way out of the body's system. Good luck x

I was on Depo too. I researched online about getting my periods back and came across info that said to take bcps to kick start your cycle. I went to my dr. ready to ask for some bcps and I got as far as "I got off Depo and haven't had a period in 6 months and I want to start TTC in another 6 months..." She also mentioned the bcp and gave me 3 months worth. It regulated me and I know that I ovulate now and everything.

Take a look into it. Although you might be back to WTT for a short time, it might actually be faster than waiting and waiting.
