Need advice re: ovulating and BDing!

Hey gals,

I should be ovulating around now. Me and hubby have been BDing every other day but we can’t today cos of his hours (we’re not in at the same times). But we’re looking forward to a long lazy session tomorrow (Sat) morning ;-) But am a bit worried we might ’miss the boat’. If I am ovulating today, then will BDing tomorrow am and the BDing we enjoyed Wednesday evening be enough to catch the lil egg? How long do we ovulate?

Also, my CM was stretchy yesterday afternoon, then returned to non-stretchiness last night. Was stretchy again this am, then returned to non-stretchiness just now. Maybe it means I’m about to OV? I also did an OPK (left over from last month) and no line. I’m not sure I trust these OPKs! I can feel sharp pains, like I’m ovulating. Not sure what my ticker says on here till I post this so maybe tomorrow is the day?! Aghhhhh, so confusing. I’m concerned by leaving 3 days between BDing, I’ll miss out! Not much I can do about it I guess. He finishes at 4am tomorrow morning. x

i think you will be ok if you miss the day of... O day is tricky anyways and the spermies also need time to get to the egg... since you have been BDing regularly, the sperm have time to get to the tube and hang out and wait for ms. egg! Good Luck... also, look at the American Pregnancy Association thread... there is a nice table on the link.

lastly: sperm travel 1 inch per hour!

Thanks! You're a fountain of useful knowedge! I guess all we can do is BD as much as we can and when we can (though not toooooo much as I hear it weakens sperm) and cross our fingers :-)

I didn't know that - quite interesting! How far in inches does it need to travel to meet the egg - does anyone know?

Good luck Trixielox - I think you will be fine, if you haven't had a positive on your opk yet (friday) and get one on Saturday - remember, it takes a number of hours after LH surge is detected till you actually ovulate. If you had no line on Friday, then it is unlikely you would ovulate then (a faint line at least would be detected). Some women do get a surge suddenly. I got a faint line on my opk yesterday and got a dark line today (and a smiley face on my Clearblue Digital test).
