diagnosed Protein S deficiency (blood clotting disorder) after miscarriage

I was diagnosed Protein S deficiency after a miscarriage two weeks ago. It has something to do with a blood clotting disorder. Anyone with similar experience? What's your treatment? Thanks.

I work with someone who has mentioned having this, she has also just found out she is pregnant - will ask her about it for you. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage - did you get told anything about it when you were diagnosed? x

I see this is an older thread but did anyone find out about this or do anything whilst pregnant to help with the defiency? I have a protein S defiency and have had two miscarriages. It's rare to have this blood clotting disorder if you've never been on the pill as I haven't. Anyone help with info about this?

Hi again,

The specialist I am now seeing never mentioned that the Protein S deficiency in my pregnancy caused my 2 miscarriages - he says that anticardiolipins and lupus anticoagulant can be blamed for miscarriages (amongst many other things) but these 2 tests came up ok on my results. It's all very confusing but I am being treated 'anyway' with blood thinning injections and progesterone during this 3rd pregnancy. Have any specialists ever told any of you ladies that this is a cause of miscarriages? My last miscarriage had a heartbeat but an enlarged yolk sac and didn't last past 6.6 weeks.
