I'm Currently Feeling: | You mean it's actually possible that I ovulated right before AF was supposed to come? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | No, most women will O approximately 12-14 days (your LP) before AF comes. However, a LP can be like 9-16 days instead. If your LP is less than 10 days you should see your doctor as this can result in more difficulties getting pg. Your LP usually doesn't change much from cycle to cycle (1-2 days) so after you O you know that AF will come say, 15 days later, unless you are pg.
So, for me, my cycle typically goes:
CD1 - AF comes
CD18 - O day
CD 31/CD 1 - AF comes again.
So my LP is 12 days, but it takes me until CD18 to O.
You can O shortly after AF appears, but you usually don't O right before AF because it is O that determines when AF is coming. But, you can get spotting before AF. It is also possible to O more than once a cycle.
Hope that helps. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Okay, I understand what you are saying. I guess in my mind I'm thinking if I had gotten pregnant around 12-14 days before my expected period, or even right after my period ended (less likely) I would have gotten a positive test this morning because I would be at least 2 weeks pg. So the only way at this point that I could be pregnant is if I ovulated late, like right before my period was supposed to come, and I wouldn't get a positive test yet because it would be too early. But from what I understand this is not how it works, or if it does it's very uncommon. So what's the reason for being a week late? I know people say this all the time but truly and honestly, I have never been a week late before.. especially with no signs of AF... ? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Usually you will O around the same point in your cycle, but there are some things that can throw you off - stress or sickness being the top 2 that come to mind right now. Some women just also have irregular cycles so that can throw off when in their cycle they O. Did you just come off BCP or anything? That can also throw off your cycle. If you are normally very regular, haven't been sick or stressed (but I think we've all been stressed, it's the holidays!) give it a few more days, a week or so, and test again. It can be tough, but without knowing when you O'ed it's hard to say where you are in your LP, if you did O (you can have cycles when you don't O, but they are usually the same length as a "normal" cycle).
Sorry, that's the best thing I can advise. Wait a few days or a week and test again if AF isn't here. talk to your GP as well if AF doesn't arrive. I've read a few people on here have had to go get AF "jump started" but I think they usually have irregular cycles... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ugh... it's Saturday evening now, and day 36 of my cycle. Nothing. Not even a sign anymore.. I haven't had a cramp in a couple of days and I am terribly irritable. It's driving my husband crazy. I really need some women's support right now, lol! I will probably call my ob Monday morning if I haven't started yet and see what's going on. The only thing is, like you ktbean, Monday will be day 38 and not necessarily soon enough to test for hcg if I O'd late. I guess we'll see... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Krista, I wasn't going to but I will test again tomorrow (mond). It will be ten days late then and with absolutely no sign of AF. I did have lower back ache and mild cramps a few days ago but nothing since. No more spotting that I can tell though I pushed a tiny amount of tissue up there yesterday and saw a smear of brown blood. (Sorry to be so graphic). Not helping myself I know. I am ready for AF just want to know either way!! Are you going to do one too? | | | | Status: Offline
