Did I get my ovulation time wrong??

Has anyone ever consistently experienced, what they THOUGHT was ovulation pain (middlshmertz??), only to discover with OPKs that they were ovulating at a totally different time?

I'm asking because this is the first month I'll be using an OPK and I'm curious if I've been wrong these past months. You see, around the day that I should be ovulating, I always experience pain and tenderness, which to me feels EXACTLY like ovulation pain (it alternates sides and is in my ovarian area). But I wonder if I've been shooting myself in the foot this whole time by assuming that I knew when I ovulated without an OPK...

Has anyone ever had the same thing, but been wrong?? Or can this pain be experienced a few days before or after ovulation??

I bet you can experience pains before you O as your body is preparing to release the egg. I have pains throughout the whole cycle for whatever reason...but unfortunately I don't know when I O. I think I do at different times each cycle. So long as you have been bding a lot, you should be good I can't wait to hear about when you test!

I've been noticing pains a week before AF for that past few months. Those could easily be confused with O pains but seem to late for ovulation. I've ordered one of those fancy ovulation predictor readers to help me figure out whats going on since I have no clue. Have you thought about getting one?
