This is my first post but I thought I would come and introduce myself. My name is Laura, and my beloved (and sometimes irritating) husband and I have recently began Trying for our First. It’s funny, I never realised that trying to conceive was such a marathon of facts, figures, dates, times, etc.

I am so very new to all of this. We started actively trying this cycle. I have very irregular periods. So far my cycles have been 23 days, 24 days, 27 days and, this month, I am currently on Day 31. It makes it particularly difficult to know when I ovulated!

I started getting the eggwhite on 14th December yet I only had the ovulation pain on 19th. We BDd on 14, 15, 17 and 19th so hopefully we covered all bases!

Now, here is the thing. And this is probably wishful thinking, but it is strange, for me. Or, at least, I think it is strange. For some reason, my memory has gone totally blank with regard to my periods and I simply cannot remember what is normal for me.

Since 23rd December I have been waking up every morning at 5am with cramps. Without fail, 5am every morning. These cramps last until around 9 and then vanish until the following morning. My skin has turned completely sensitive (have burning allergy on my face from shower gel) and only yesterday when I went to test my temperature, just putting the thermometer in my mouth almost made me throw up.

My temp is usually 36.5 yet is has been consistently ranging from 37.22 to 37.63 for the past three days (did not test before as have not really got this BBT thing down to a pat yet) and I have been wanting to sleep constantly (eg, sleeping from 10pm to 9am then wanting to sleep again in the afternoon, etc)

Have been trying to chart cervical position as well. Thusfar has remained high, hard, closed. Could barely reach this morning!

My question is, when would you advise testing?

I do not have sore boobs. Apart from that one time yesterday I have felt that kind of hunger sickness that you feel when you are hungry yet nothing more nauseous than that. The areola is not darkened though my boobs look slightly bigger. The only symptoms I seem to have are slightly elevated temperature, morning cramps, sensitive skin and tiredness.

I keep thinking AF is coming but she does not turn up!

You do have some very promising symptoms there hun! I'd test tomorrow with FMU. If you get a BFN you could still be preg, it all depends on how much HCG your body has produced if you're preg.

Have been reading some old posts and saw that you got a false positive. How annoying is that? Its like offering something then taking it away. I felt for you when I read that.

They are promising signs, I thought. It is making me want to NOT test just so I can live in hope for a little while longer. I have been weeks late before and tested negative and even though I was not trying at the time I was still gutted to see a negative result.

If I ovulated the day I think I might have (the day the cramps came) then perhaps my period is not due until 1st January anyway. Am just hoping that little witch cow does not show up on her bloody broomstick. Is just hard getting used to all the signs, especially with such a questionable cycle.

I think I have cramps now though. They have normally only lasted until half eight or so but they just came back now. Seems like she is on her way after all

Hi and welcome to bnb!. I too think that your symptoms sound very promising.I'd just like to say good luck with the testing and i hope it turns out to be a bfp.

I took a test about an hour ago and it was a BFN.

Gutted.

I do not want to start convincing myself that the test was wrong, though, because that would only drive me mad. It was one of those First Response Early Testing kits so I assume if I was pregnant it would show up on one of those right?

I will get period tomorrow, I bet.

Maybe try and test again in a few days. I am in the same boat , I have irregular periods too! Argh they are so annoying when you are ttc! I am currently 6 days late based on my past 2 cycles of 32 days. I have had three BFNs...so I just am waiting it out at the moment. Welcome and please keep us all updated !
