Agnus Castus and Vit B Complex

I have a question about the above 2. Can you take them together? I've heard that taking both together can cause miscarriage as they are both quite powerful on their own.

I'm going to use one or the other again this cycle as I'm convinced I was actually pregnant this cycle (as I've had quite a few faint lines on ICs - although I don't really rely on these half the time) and I've had niggly pains low down in my stomach but yesterday I had a tiny bit of spotting and some more today. I don't think it's implantation bleeding (I'm 10dpo), although obviously it could be.

So my LP used to always be 13 days but then after my miscarriage it stayed at 13 for a couple of months and then gradually reduced down to 10 or 11, but I sometimes get spotting at 8dpo onwards. I know this isn't a sereious LP defect but I think it's what is causing me not to get pregnant (now on cycle 8!).

So which one is best to take for trying to extend it?

Hi! I'm afraid i can't answer your question but i'd love to hear replies from anyone who can. Like you, i'm thinking my LP might be a problem at around 10days. I also had a m/c (feb this year). Used to have a regular 26 day cycle, but only started temping last month and used OPKs this month to see when I O. Didn't get a properly +ve OPK, but it was the most +ve on CD13, so I assume I O'd CD14. That's when I usually get some twinges too, and it fitted with my temps. But AF has started today - a 25 day cycle with only 10 day LP.

The thing is, I'd tried a Vit B complex this month from CD1-14 (I think it was 25mg of B6, so quite low dosage as I didn't want to take too much, with similar B12 etc). But this month my period has been shorter than any others for a while, in fact the last 2 months the cycle was 28 days (with some spotting on days 26 and 27)which is unusual for me. I took the B complex to try to keep the cycle longer and lengthen the luteal phase, but this month it's shorter! So in addition to susan's questions, i just wondered if anyone could suggest whether i should keep on with the B vitamins (maybe take B-50?) or stop and go natural?!

Good luck on lengthening your lp. Hope we find some answers and success soon!

That's interesting then. Maybe switch to using just Agnus Castus. For one or two months, I used both and it did lengthen my luteal phase to about 11 days, but I want it back at 13 days. I also have high temperatures pretty much all cycle, although it does rise after ov but I've heard that could be caused by low estrogen and I've noticed this since my miscarriage. The only thing I've done differently since then is using Boots No. 7 skincare range and I read that some anti-aging creams can cause low estrogen so I might have to stop with the skincare. I don't know if this is related to my short LP though.

There was a massive thread on here about it somewhere but I found it a bit confusing. People obviously knew a hell of a lot about it so I felt completely lost!

I posted a similar question to this on yahoo answers and got the following:

cannnot see any reason why taking this would cause a miscarriage. Vitamin B is a water soluble vitamin. Any excess that your body doesn't need is excreeted within hours of taking it.
And agnus castus is fine to take after ovulation as it's such a low dose - I asked a herbalist about this. She said just stop taking it if you get pregnant.

I had 2 miscarriages last year when I wasn't taking either vitex or vit B. I then started taking them and am now 20 weeks pregnant! So they haven't caused any problems for me.

Most miscarriages are just caused by bad luck - something goes wrong in the complex process of making a human being and so the body rejects the pregnancy. There usually isn't a cause.

If you have a short LP, and especially if you get spotting during your LP you might have low progesterone. I would recommend buying a natural progesterone cream such as serenity and using it after ovulation. This is what my consultant recommeneded I did and I really feel it helped me to sustain this pregnancy.

You can take B-vits throughout your pregnancy - many women do. I don't know about AC though.
