Ovulation Predictor Kitd

Hi girls!
I have just come of the pill and had my AF (withdrawal bleed), my husband and I are just starting to TTC baby no. 1. I have been on the pill for approx. 8 years I am worried after reading lots of articles that it will take a long time to conceive (although I have heard of some conceiving straight away)! I have been reading up on OPKs but am a little confused.com!!! I want to get pregnant as soon as possible (then again don’t we all!) and wondered if it’s worth using OPKs? Do they actually work? Not knowing when I will have my next AF I’m not sure what my cycle is/or when I will be ovulating! Can I use OPKs so soon after coming off the pill?
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

You can use opk's for sure - only thing is you will likely have to use quite a few becuase you won't know when in your cycle you will ovulate. If you get a whole bunch of cheapies (u can order some online) then it isn't terrible to use opk. If you are using the expensive ones then I personally wouldn't recommend it for your first cycle off bcp.

I would recommend reading the book Taking charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. it tells you every sign you need to know to know when your fertile time is.

I would recommend for your first cycle to chart your bbt (basal body temperature) and chart your cm (cervical fluid).

And since it is your first month - just have fun

I, too, think you could possibly go through several OPKs in the beginning. However, my period didn't take very long to get regular. Once I started learning about the whole cycle, it became easier. Now I could probably use 6 or less OPK strips in one month but I like to POAS to pinpoint O a little better. I then confirm my O with BBT.

I also read the book TCOYF and it was very useful. I learned a lot.

Hi There, i'm like yourself been on bcp for about 8 yrs (was on microgynm 30) and have now begun ttc although i started back in april. My period has not got back to normal yet, had my normal withdrawl, then had to wait 7 very long weeks for my first bleed, now i'm up to 6 weeks now and nothing still. I'm about to embark on taking agnus castus as they say this helps regulate a womans monthly visit and help in fertility problems. I am also about to start taking evening primrose oil as well. It might help to look into that as well as using opks. Ebay is good for your sticks and holland and barret have Agnus castus for 2.99 for 30 tabs.

Hope this helps and good luck in getting ur soon.
