Oh, the irony!

So as you might know, we've been TTC for 9 months, and last month, I swore I was pregnant. I went to the doctor, and both the urine and of course, . So after we decided to wait a few months to try again.
Yesterday I suddenly got very dizzy, and lost consciousness. I was rushed to the hospital and after many tests, guess what? I am pregnant. Using urine, it still shows , but blood tests and an ultrasound both say theres a little bean in there.
Apparently, if you take medicine for something lacking in your blood (I'm diabetic and anemic), you actually have lower amounts in your urine, so it might not show up for a few months!!

Good luck everyone!! I'll still staying around here though! If any of you need advice about having diabetes or being anemic while TTC, let me know!

xxx

p.s. If there is something TOTALLY off about your cycle, don't jut brush it off because AF shows. Mine wasn't AF, but was bad bleeding due to not being able to clot well!

This is really interesting! I'm anaemic, but I only take my iron supplements when I'm feeling extremely ill, because the tablets make me feel awful. Were you taking any prescribed medicine? I never knew this kind of thing could interfer. Thank you for the information! xx

oh, and congratulations!!

I take Ferrous sulfate pills and I take insulin shots. And good luck! The doctors told me that if you are very anemic (I just recently stopped transfusions), then you need to have several checkups because there are many risks in pregnancy, and that was what caused my MC at 9 weeks.

Thank you for the information. I'm not severly anaemic, but have suffered quite a while. I may book an appointment with the doctor to get my bloods done again to check everything is ship shape and we're not TTC for nothing! It is worrying that severe anaemia can cause m/c. I'm sorry to hear about your loss but you must be over the moon about this pregnancy.

That's fascinating! Congratulations!

I'm just wondering now because I've been dizzy for days and anemic due to having Crohn's Disease... Hmm...

Being anemic may not stop you from ovulating, but it does increase your chances of having a chemical. And also, since you have had anemia for a while, it's safe to bet it's not from your diet, right? So actually, a checkup every month before or after AF is good. You might lose more blood during implantation as well, and that could also cause a chemical.

Good luck!! I hope this information is useful. My mind was blown away from this information.

And not only am I over the moon, but I'm also in the "I told you so" mood towards my doctors who swore it was a chemical on June 20th. haha

I really don't want to worry you, but my doctor told me since I was TTC if I became dizzy any time near AF, that I should take a doctors visit. You will need more iron for either being pregnant, or AF. It's just in case.

Good luck!!

Haha, I love them 'told you so' moods! and damn girl, you have a right to be in one of them moods! bet the doc was suprised.

I'm being blown away by this information too! It's so good to know, thanks a lot. I will definitely go speak to my doctor about this, thank you. And my anaemia actually started young from an eating disorder, so I guess it was from my diet. Even though I'm recovered now, my blood levels are still low. They can't figure out why!

Good luck for the next 8 months-ish!
