Julia Saliva Fertility monitor

Has anyone bought one of these?

I have just bought one off the internet as I have a very, very irregular cycle which can be months and months apart!

I thought it would be cheaper and easier to invest in one of these as other fertility monitors dont work if your cycle is irregular.

I am hoping that it will soon change as I have started taking agnus castus but at present it is 10 weeks since my last period and who knows when will be back!!

Have a happy staurday,

Cathy xx

I don't have a Julia, but I do use a Babystart Focus microscope. This is my first month with it and Agnus Castus (now on day 27) and I used it in conjunction with opks - when I started to see some ferning, I began poas and I got three +ve results out of 4 tests.

It does take a bit of getting used to. I have mine in my bedside table and do it before I get up, as I think you're suppose to take the sample at the same time every day. The most important thing is to try and avoid bubbles, which is easier said than done in my experience.

I hope you find it works for you and am happy to swop spit notes with you, if you want to!!

With saliva tests, do you have to add anything special to your test to make it "work"? Or is it just licking a microscope plate and then looking at it?

I don't add anything to mine. I take the sample from the side of my mouth as I found I was getting too many bubbles on the slide when I licked it.

If anyone knows of a proven technique, I'd be really interested to hear because the instructions are a bit on the vague side, imo.

i read that you should scoop as much as you can from under your tounge and then let it air dry for at least 20mins and poss forget about it for a bit, then take a peek the bubbles dont really affect anything if ferning is there you cant miss it hope this helps a little

The last couple of samples (when I got the ferning) came from under my tongue and I used a cotton bud to take it, so I'm definitely going to do that again next cycle.

I usually leave the slide to dry while I'm in the shower and look at it when I get out (10+ minutes later).
