I was on it for a little over a year. I decided to stop it because I was getting married and wanted it to get out of my system. I think my last shot was in June 08 so it should have been time for another dose in September.

I waited for 3 months for AF to come back and she didn't. I really wanted to kickstart my cycles so I would be ready to TTC after the wedding. I went to my doctor in December and she gave me 3 months of bcp to regulate me again. It worked and I'm pretty regular now.

Still waiting on my BFP but I hope that helped. Good luck

bcp = birth control pills.

Sounds counter-active but I did some research on it and then went to see my doctor. She brought it up before I even had the chance to. It's very had to stop TTC and take bcp for a while but it could work out better in the end. I took it for 3 months but maybe you can take it for a shorter length of time.

Hi Anna, didn't want to read and run. I was on the pill, but I talked to my doctor about Depo and since it releases hormones over time it takes a lot longer to get out of your system. I'm not sure if this is relevant but I read some of the ladies here are taking Agnus Castus to regulate their cycles.

Depo is evil. I was on it for 2 years and I took 30 months to conceive. Took nearly a year for AF to come back and over 18 months for regular ovulation. Plus I put on over 4 stone in under a year which I assume we can blame depo for too! Good luck, hope yours comes back a bit quicker - try agnus castus or something like that to regulate you - you need to take for at least 4 months before it is really effective so maybe start now? xxx
