I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh crap... Ok, i'm trying not to stress out until we see the FS. I have a question about myself that I need to ask him.
About 6 years I had a laparoscopy and an hysteroscopy (sp?) done due to painful sex and periods. They thought I had endometriosis but the surgery proved that I didn't. The gyno at the time told me that they did however find that I had a heart shaped uterus. I remember him telling me that it 'shouldn't' affect me having kids.
I'd almost totally forgotten about it, or not thought much about it at least for a long time, then when I remembered today I called it up on trusty old google.
From reading articles, studies and womens own experiences with a heart shaped uterus, I came to find that it:
* Increases risk of miscarriage
* Increases risk of the baby dying inside you because the placenta can become unstuck or something?
* For the above reasons you sometimes have to have an emergency c-seciton at 30 weeks.
* Usually results in the baby being breech so again a C-section.
Um...can I have a break please?
Ok...so yes, trying not to stress until I hear what FS says - google can be so bad sometimes!
Anyone ese have a HSU? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't, but I wanted to post and say try not to worry (I know that's silly, like saying don't look down). I've had uterine surgery for an AVM, and have two small uterine AVMs currently, and everything I read online says there's NO way I'll ever be able to carry a pregnancy, if I even get pregnant it will result in early MC, it's all terrifyingly negative. Know what my gyno said? "Bah, what a load of crap. The latest research shows that you should be just fine, no issues whatsoever. Don't believe what you see on the computer screen, come to me and ask questions" - He's the best and the brightest, so I'm told (every other doctor I see in the city knows his name, it's a bit scary) and hasn't steered me wrong so far.
I hope very much that the same logic applies in your situation - sometimes what we read on the almighty InterWeb isn't up to date, or correct, or doesn't apply in the reader's individual case.
But yes, I can see why you'd like a break. As if everything else isn't enough, right? Hang in there. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi
My friend was told she had a heart shaped uterus when she was having investigations but she had a healthy baby 3 months ago with no complications. Sometimes I think there is too much info out there and it makes us worry too much!! I was told my uterus tilts backwards but that it shouldn't matter it just makes it harder to scan apparently. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My neighbor has one, and she was able to get pregnant quickly, but she did have a lot of problems throughout her pregnancy. BUt she did carry him to term and he is as healthy as can be. |
