Trying To Conceive

Do you think that certain sexual positions either increase/decrease your chances of conceiving?

I've researched this on the net and while some sites say it makes absolutely NO difference what position you have sex in, other's say the opposite.

As for me and DH, we prefer to have sex with me on top. We both climax a lot easier and quicker in this position. But from the research I've done, it suggests that this is the worst position to have sex in because the little spermies have to work against the forces of gravity.

But, when we do try doing other positions that we're not overly keen on, we end up putting so much pressure on the situation, that neither of us enjoy it, and as a result there are often no spermies whatsoever!!

So I dunno.

Thoughts, anyone??

We ALWAYS do missionary when TTC because 3 different doctors have told me that the most successful position to get pregnant in is missionary.

You could do what we do and that is me on top, then not long before DH is close, we roll over and go missionary.

Trust it to be that the most boring positon is one that will better likely get you pregnant!

One of the girls got her BFP this month and she was ontop, so it can happen!

As pp said, I've heard that missionary is the best way to get pg (as long as you don't have an inverted uterus, then it's the worst!), but that it can happen pretty much in any position...I think it depends on the two people involved and factors like sperm mobility, etc, but I am not a doctor, so what do I really know?

Interesting! I have a retroverted uterus, what's the best position for TTC if your uterus is tilted? We've been missionary lately, but my hubby loves me to be on top - if that's a good position, I guess I can't argue with him any more!

yea hays doggy style is meant to be good ends to get him closer to the cervix! Itve got a retroverted uterus and i read that doggy style is good for that too! We tend to do it misionary, doggy or on our sides

i think i read that theres a theory that your more likely to have a boy doggy style!?

I've read lots of theories on this too and have heard that female on top is the least successful position for conception (although still possible) and that missionary is the best.

Have also read the myths that missionary and furthest fertile days from ovulation are best for

. Not sure I'd go as far as believing that though. There is a bit of science behind it relating to the strength of male and female producing sperm (it's fun to check it out on the internet).

I believe for an inverted uterus from behind is the best way, but don't quote me on that...Someone I used to work with has one and face to face wasn't going to really do anything for her, I believe she said from behind.

i was told missionary position was the best with pillow under your butts suppose to be less work for him but it does elevate your body for a deeper penetration and like that the sperms have less travel to do to reach your cervix and when the job is done

you add a other pillow for a extra 20 minutes just to make sure they arrive at destination more faster!
but any positions is good too i think !
