I'm Currently Feeling: | Pets Replacing Baby? Is anyone else out there like me? I have three adorable Maltese X Bichon's. Two adults, and one of their puppies. To me they are just like my children, and they are probably as spoilt as some children. I can't imagine life without them. But I know they are substitutes for actual children. I love them all with all my heart...And I cuddle them just like babies until they fall asleep..Even my parents in in laws call them their "grandpuppies". lol, we have more photos hanging of our "babies" around the house then we do of us!
I know, I sound nuts!
Anyone else got the four legged babies?
Care to share a pic of them?
Here's our kiddies |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Lmao!!
Oh Wobbles she's so adorable!!! I love her colours, she has such a cute face.
We have a cat too, she's not a lap cat either, so she comes when she wants to. We also rescued her from the RSPCA Shelter. She was abused and then dumped. So she's just learning to trust us, she bites your toes though if you don't give her attention |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes...I do!!!
We have 7 dogs...the main reason we have so many is that I can never turn down a rescue. They're all rescues except for 1.
This is Xena - my very big baby - the whole 60kgs of her!!! (131 pounds) She is 5yo and is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. We've had her from a 7 week puppy.
This is Rani. We got her from an animal shelter. She is a labrador x pitbull x staffy. She's approx 8yrs old, and THE sweetest dog ever. Here she is modeling her bulldogs attire
This is Stranger. We've had him for 3yrs. He literally turned up on our doorstep, no collar or microchip and we couldn't find his owners. We think he was either dumped or escaped, by far the worst case of dog abuse i've ever seen. He wouldn't come near us, he would cower, shake, then freeze with fear when we could finally get near him. I won't go into it anymore though. He is the most loveable, playful and friendly dog now! He's approx 4yo.
This is Paddy. Another terribly abused dog that we bought from a sale. His skin was bare and rubbed raw around his neck from a big heavy chain, he was skin and bones, riddled with fleas and worms and petrified of people. 2yrs later he is one of the happiest dogs you'd ever seen! He's around 5yo. This is him on his beloved quad bike with his signature dopey look
This is Winnie. We got her for free at the sale we bought Paddy from. She was a 4 week old Pup who was terribly malnourished and riddled with fleas and worms. She's now over 2yo and a cheeky, happy and playful girl!
Next is Leo. He turned up to our place also! Not too badly abused, a few hits though I think and in need of a feed. He's approx 2yo.
And our latest girl Joey. This is a really long story but basically I heard of a dog being beaten and the dog would no longer go to the owner or within 200mtrs of anyone. I tried to go and get her and after 3 hours she was within arms length but understandably not brave enough to let me touch her. I called it a day planning to go back out in a few days time. Then I heard that the owner trapped her and had her in a cage for a few weeks. I went and got her and she was terrified. She is now my best mate, but loves and trusts me and me only. She's almost 2yo.
This was her the day I got her - she looks MUCH better now!
And thats my lot! Don't get me started on my horses, pet sheep and pet calves
I have birthday parties for all of them and they're all showered in love and attention. They're all like my babies. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Defo not a trusting kitty and is still year later ish learning to trust us. She always hisses at my OH for some reason as well. Need to start letting her out but don't want to at the same time. She is my baby (gets called it too) I'm scared she won't come back but she needs to stretch her legs now typething and we had her done a couple of weeks ago so that should help regarding coming back home. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Wobs! We live on a farm, so we have PLENTY of room! All of them except for the first 3 are working dogs so they're a great help to us.
Its alot of work and money with feeding, bathing, worming, vaccinations etc. But they're all really well behaved (most of the time) we can leave them outside just by the house and they will stay there. They exercise themselves as they follow us everywhere, so no need for walking them!
They're great watchdogs too...the first 2 girls are actually more like guard dogs and are REALLY protective of me, especially Xena.
Everyone says i'm a sucker, but I just cannot say no to a dog that needs a home and has come from a very bad home...I just can't do it! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Holy Smacko's FJL!! Thats one HUGE family!! They are all so adorable though!! We celebrate our babies birthdays too, but they all get "treats" because ya just can't give one one or the others will go nuts!
Wobbles - Our cat is the same, we had her fixed just last week, She's just started sleeping on the bed with us, she use to not like the bedroom (don't know why) - and she comes up beside us in bed and lets us cuddle her, I was so excited the first time she did it!!!
She's great with the dogs though, especially the puppy who tries to drag her around by the tail and ears, she just lays there and purrs and takes it. Sometimes she gets rough with them and they have a great ol' play together
Heres Tabitha(cat) and Chase(dog) playing
An Hour later, here they are sleeping together. |
