Confused

Please help! I'm so worried about all of this. I had my last normal AF on November 6. I usually have a very regular period and was expecting my next one on December 1st. Well it came but it was a brownish color and it lasted the same length as my normal period. Well I wasn't due for another AF until December 26th, but one appeared on Sunday. It's normal color (bright red) and slightly less flow. but all the other things I get with AF are there, the cramping and moodiness. I took a HPT yesterday because I had been so out of whack since last month. It came back negative. Do you all think that this is an accurate test? Or could I possibly be pregnant? If I am I'll be happy, but I'd just like to know.

It sounds as if for some reason your body has got a bit messed up. Maybe at some point you were pregnant and that's whats caused the weird AF's or if you've been stressed or ill. It's probably best to see a doctor but hopefully from next month it will get back to normal.

A lot of things can affect your AF, if you've been under a lot of stress (and lets face, at this time of year who isn't under stress!) - like anita said, it is best to see your GP, just to make sure everything is ok. Sometimes in occasional cycles of mine I get the brownish discharge...and then a week later the AF - and I'm scratching my head going WTF?

Best of luck with everything

Here's a little more information. When I changed my tampon this afternoon, it had the small blood clots that it normally has during my AF. No other symptoms of pregnancy. Just the screwy cycle. Thanks everybody!

Sounds like old blood and then your body tried to get back to normal. I have had that happen to me before, and it is so annoying!!! Best of luck and re-test if you really think it could be pregnancy...

Thanks I have an appointment after the holidays with my doctor. She really didn't sound concerned about it at all. Said it just sounds like I am out of whack but to come in and she would check and make sure.

I have an appointment on Friday to get a blood test done. I'm still quite nervous over the whole thing. I know either way things will be fine. Today is day 4 of this mid cycle bleeding and it's pretty non existent which is common for my fourth day of a a regular AF. I'm hoping I've just stressed myself so much these last couple of months (new job, moving, getting engaged, planning a wedding, and buying things for family) that I'm just irregular. Either way, everything will be fine. to everyone trying for BFPs for Christmas and to those who want BFPs but BFNs.

Just an update on all of this......I went to the doctor on Friday, had both the urine test and the blood test ran. Also had a complete exam done. Urine test came back negative, no other indications that I'm pregnant, doc said that she felt it highly unlikely but ran the blood test to check thyroid function and to do the blood pregnancy test. I will know sometime tomorrow what it says.
