Sperm tests

How would I go about getting a test done on OH's little dudes?

He's had an infection in one testicle twice and I don't know if that's affected anything.

Will the doctor do it or do I have to go private?

Thanks

I am not sure how it works there, but in Canada, I just went to my doc and said we were trying and wanted to get us both tested, she wrote up the lab requisition right there for us.

Good luck!

There's actually a product on the market called Fertell which is a sperm testing kit that you can do from home. It's about £50 but I suppose it stops the embarrassment of going to the doctors. Their website is http://www.fertell.co.uk/

just get an appt with gp, and he should be able to make appt to do it. if you live nearish the hospital to get it there within an hour, they will give you a time to hand it in. x

iv also heard of the homes testing kits they measure the amount of mobile sperm and if over 200million are viable then the test will read positive BUT the test will not give u numbers so lets say ur OH had 150million mobile sperm he would still give u a fantastic chance of conceiving but the test will be neg and totally worry u then u will end up seeing GP anyways for number tests and be 50 quid down also, so whilst it a good idea if the test is neg dnt count on it meaning he infertile as i feel its what these home fertility tests can cause good luck hunny and i would personally just ask for tests and say ur worried due to his medical history of infection there xxxx

I'm pretty sure he would just go to his GP and have his "boys" tested. Then the GP will send them off to be tested.
