Thermometer

Just out of curiosity... what kind of thermometer do you use to chart?
A special one?

Not necessarily but a BBT (basal body temperature) thermometer is the best. Just type BBT temperature into Google and you'll get loads of info.

Ok, I was just wondering what the BBT ones had different.
I have one which is digital and measures quite precisely: for example, I get temperatures like 36.22 or 37.14.
What else do the BBT ones do?

I think you're fine then. My reads to 2 decimals places and holds 1 temp in memory. Other than that, I don't know what it does differently!

Hi,

Sounds like the one you have will do the job nicely (ie. reading to 2 decimal places). The others don't do anything extra but come usually with a pink top and some stupid transfer stuck on them with the word 'baby' ... a bit pants when you want to use it in the future. It also struck me that I can't leave it hanging around either as if someone sees it, they will know we are ttc and I don't want it to be common knowledge. Although my H says easy enough to get the transfer off.

If its takes to two decimal points then its fine to use
Most normal thermometers in the shops only take to one decimal point thats why its suggested to get a BBT one.
