Doc told me that he will be prescribing me to take baby aspirin during TTC again. I have allergy to aspirin so I dont think will take it though he said that the other option will be getting cortisone shots

I think I will have to take the shots though he mentioned that wont make me fat. (I dont care if they do I can zip my lips!)

I can't really answer this, but doesn't your doctor know that you are allergic to aspirin??? Why would he prescribe it or even think of prescribing it if you are allergic???

Sorry, that just jumped out at me...sorry I can't help. Interesting though and might talk to my doctor about it at my annual to see if he thinks it's something I should consider in a few months time if nothing happens...

He knows I am allergic to it that's why he will probably give me something else like the shots.. let's see what happens..

Ok, I just thought it odd that he'd think about prescribing it if he knew you were allergic...I guess he was just mentioning the options.

All I know about it is that when my Gramps was sick before he died they had him on it for heart issues and general health. Never heard about it for helping fertility but I don't see why not!

Just didn't want you to have more problems by taking something that you were allergic to. I have environmental and food allergies and those are bad enough...

ive actually been thinking about this myself suzan. I have arthritis and have been sein a specialist who deal with auto immune diseases. I was worries about miscarriage as close family members have had miscarriages and still births (at full term). My ana (anti nuclear antibody) blood test has come back pisitve very time ive been tested in the last 3 years. My doctor said that people with a positive (ana) blood test are more likely to have miscarriages and still births and they would be monitored more durin pregnancy and prescribed aspirin. She said as mine is a low ana result i wouldnt be considered a risk. They would only see me as a risk if i personally has more than 3 miscarriages. I explained my concern that although this has happened to my immediate family none of them had auto immune diseases like me but she still didnt seem worried.

So im considering asprin, im going to tlak to her about it when i see her next week. I also might have endometriosis and my periods nearly all come out in think clots (like the blood is too thick) so i think it probably would help a lot of people.

If i was you and the dr has suggested it i would def go for the shots! It might help!

i am also thinking of taking it as i get a lots of big clots in af and i think maybe my lining is too thick for egg to implant.

I was told that if you take baby aspirin while TTC it will help the baby implant better. I really don't know. But, I hope this is your cycle..

I have never taken it, but I have heard of doctors prescribing it to ladies with reaccuring miscarriages. They recommend it because aspirin thins your blood - so it will help with implantation and hopefully prevent another m/c. They do baby aspirin because it is low dosage and sufficient (they also prescribe it to older people with high blood pressure/heart issues to help prevent heart attacks).

Since you are allergic, I would make sure your doctor understands that before taking it. Good luck!
