Need help with OPK thing I bought yesterday ...

Hey gals, I bought an OPK yesterday (Boots-own) and will start using it on Saturday, fine and dandy. But the info leaflet isn’t hugely clear. So was wondering if you could help. Once I get a ‘positive’ (2 clear lines), when’s the best time to BD? And also, it says to test between 10am and 8pm, any recommendations on which time is best? I was thinking 12ish? Thanks, xx

I'm Currently Feeling:

Hi Trixilox,

I've just bought my first OPK kit too and used it for the first time yesterday. I got very clear instructions with mine and they were very easy to follow with a good result. Check out the Pregnancy and Ovulation Test Gallery where others including myself have posted pictures of their home tests. It's very useful to compare others with your own and you learn exactly what the different shaded lines mean. I've received a reply there advising me to test twice a day am and pm and I think this is a great idea until you get used to using the kits. It's important when using an OPK NOT to use a sample of morning urine and I read somewhere that the most accurate results are found using urine that you hold in your system for as long as possible to ensure it is a 'rich' sample ie. least diluted. I think 12pm testing sounds good as long as you have been up for a few hours beforehand. I did mine at 3pm and the photo result is on the other thread.

As for instructions to make things clearer for you. Check out these two web sites I found. I think they are really good.

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/

and

http://www.ovulation-calendar.net/ov...se=14&gender=2

The first one is especially good and there's loads extra there to enjoy.

You will find info on the best suggested time for you to conceive and you can input your own cycle details to get a personal list of dates to ttc.

I hope you find them useful.

Best of luck and lot of
