Hello people

I am just interested to know if anyone had any form of bleeding in the early stages of pregancy.
I know they say you cant have a period but did anyone have anything that ressembles that.
How long did you bleed for and did the pregancy go well.

Hi not sure how far along you mean but when i was pregnant with my son at 15 weeks i had a bleed - quite a big one like the start of a period the blood was quite wattery but - not clots and again 5 days later..

Kieran was fine and is not a 3 nearly 4 year old

my sister had a period like blled at 5 weeks because she had rough sounds stupid but if you disturb the uterus at this point it may well bleed, although it wont harm baby :-D but always check bleeding honey and good luck xx

I had a bleed at 5 weeks along, it was basically two times when I went to the bathroom when I would wipe I got bright red blood that filled the TP. But I never had to use a pad or anything. It was one time each day for two days and that was it. I was checked out since I was worried it was the starts of a MC but everything was fine and I carried full term, in fact overdue!

Seattlemama did you ever find out why you had a bleed?

I bled from weeks 4-8, but it was ectopic. This doesnt really happen much and was accompanied with a lot of other symptoms...

How do you know you are having a ectopic?

I posted in your other thread but it sounds a bit like an implantation bleed to me - it happened to me in my first pg (which i sadly miscarried) and am currently ttc on cd21 and have been spotting brown blood for 4 days now...
it really makes a difference what colour it is, implantation bleeding is usually brown though sometimes pink).

You have pain in your side, bleeding, dizziness that kind of thing generally feeling unwell, but its very unusual, and it cant be picked up on a scan until six weeks plus. In my case I bled for 4 weeks.
If you dont have pain then I wouldnt worry!

Nope they never figured it out. They told me it could have been the placenta attaching or that sometimes a small clot of blood forms while the placenta is attaching and it may have burst. Have no idea. Have you read the book "the girlfriends guide to pregnancy?" Its a good read and she talks about how she bled with almost all her pregnancies just like I did. Its actually more common than you would think. Pick up the book if your looking for a fun read
