hiya hope im posting in the right place. i am currently ttc however i have been on the depo injection. i have had my ''period'' twice since.

id like to ask if anyone has been on the depo injection and has become pregnant? how long were you on the injection and how long did it take to conceive after?

any help would be appriciated

I have been on the depo injection before for about 2 and half years i came off it for a break not to ttc so cant help you on that score.

But it did take 18 months for my period to come back. which i think is awful.

I was on the depo injection for almost 3 years. I stopped having the injections in June 07 and did not have a period until late Sept. I had no other periods after that. Several weeks later did a pregnancy test and that was negative. I have done a further test this week and it was positive. So there is hope!

For 6 months (two shots), I was on the Depo before my 1st child. I got my first AF about 1 to 1 1/2 months after when I should have gotten my shot had I kept on it. My first AF was HORRID. Then, we conceived (not trying or preventing the whole time) on the 7th cycle after when I should have had my shot (just in case there's different types, I had the one you get every 3 months). Another thing that may "make or break" the comparison is I did not get AF or any spotting while on the Depo, nor did I experience weight gain... just to show you how the hormones may or may not have affected me. I have no personal experience with the shot. HOwever, my friend was on the shot a few years back and just recently gave birth to her first child. She said they were only actively ttc for one month but had unprotected sex for 9 months.
