MetroGel during first trimester?!

HI Everyone.. After 6 months of trying... I didn't think I caught the lil bean this month because my timing wasn't exactly perfect and it just felt like I didn't try hard at all this month. But I just tested today!! I'm so happy.. but... I used MetroGel for Bacterial Vaginosis during the 1st 2 weeks after ovulation!! I went in for a Pap Smear on 5/20 and my internal doctor said that I may have BV and she also cultured for a test. The next day, they confirmed it and prescribed Metrogel 1 tube every night at bedtime for 7 nights. Here is my date breakdown:

5/6 Last Menstrual Period
5/17 Ovulation (by temp)
5/22 to 5/27 Metrogel
5/28 3/4 of a bottle of beer <-- and I usu. never ever drink!! That was my beer for the year!! argh.

So it happened around implantation?! What do you ladies think??? This was the only month I let loose and was THE month... I'm happy and worried. anyone have this experience??

First of all, congratulations!

I wouldn't worry about the metrogel and certainly wouldn't worry about the beer. Your bean won't begin to get nutrients from you for another week or so. I took a pill for BV with the same active ingredient as metrogel at the start of the cycle that I conceived and from that sheet it says that it has not been tested in first tri but has been shown safe in 2nd and 3rd tri.

Also, looking at your chart and the BFN before the BFP you may very well have implanted after the metrogel treatment.

Give your doc a call to confirm pregnancy and mention your metrogel concerns at that time--I'm sure they can put your mind to rest.
