I'm in my first cycle since BCP, but they think I've probably got PCOS, so I don't know how likely I am to ovulate at all.

i was bcp about 11 years so no hope for early bfp i don't think. Other friends who got pregnant after bcp took between 3-6mths so i think we're still in the "norm"

yeah i think we are! I didnt even think about how long i had actually been on bcp until the other day!! My doctor prescribed me tablets for the pain and the heaviness of my periods. Your meant to start tking them 3 days before af and then for the next 3 days but now im ttc ive to take them just the 1st 3 days of my cycle. (Im waiting to see a gyno incase i have endometriosis). My mum had very heavy periods and had loads of kids so im hoping im just prone to heavy periods and its nothing else!

Maybe you will get a bfp this month! I think maybe the longer you have been on bcp the longer it may take for cycles to regualte. I read on a site that people who have only been on it for 1-2 years tend to regulate very quickly. So maybe it will take us a bit longer!

yeah thats what i was expecting, DH keeps telling me not to worry. When your ttc to concieve you want to straight away despite everything you know/read about about affects of bcp on ovulation.
Hopefully gyno will sort you out, mine are definately lighter now. Is that why you were prescribed bcp in the first place? suppose your dr would know that from your records. I can't remember periods 4 bcp it was that long ago.

hi jojo! let us know how you get on, you never know you might get pregnant in your first omnth off bcp...it does happen. How do you find out if you have pcos or not do you have to have surgery?

loopy- yeah thats why i went on bcp in the first place but it was more for the pain than heaviness. I know they were heavy before but i was about 16/17 then and i really cant remember if they were this heavy or not! Ive been on 3 differetn brands of bcp i was never really happy with any of them!
