Blood test results

I got my T21 progesterone blood test results this morning. I as expected, I have low progesterone, meaning I'm not ovulating (or, at the very least, I didn't ovulate last month). Now I have to go for an ultrascan, which I'm 99% certain will find that I have PCOS. It's not the end of the world, but I am disappointed to have what I felt confirmed. So for now we just carry on as we were, and hope for the best.

To be honest, I feel like crying. Although I already kind of knew this would be the result, I'm still very disappointed.

Hi Sue

Oh I am sorry, do you think they may try you on Clomid?

Sue if you feel like crying you should, don't bottle it up.

Also I know you will know this, but lots of people conceive with pcos, may just take a little longer.

What cd did you go for your tests done? It has to be a week after ovulation doesnt mean you didnt ovulate, you could of just ovulated later than you thought.. do you have good cycles regular ones?????

Cause i dont and have tried three times to get these tests done and all at the wrong time showin no ovulation.. It has to be a week after ovulation.. and if you dont know when u ovulate then there useless results!!

If you have a 35 day cycle no point going for tests on cd21 as you prob just ovulated or havent ovulated yet, you need to go around cd 25 ish!! Them few days make a difference!! It has to be a week after ovulation.. Why they call them day 21 tests is they go of a normal 28 day cycle but lets be honest not many women have a 28day cycle..

Its suppose to be around a week after ovulation and a week before AF shows..So doesnt mean you didnt ovulate huni
x

I had these tests done 3 times before they referred me, i know i ovulate but the timing was out with me as my cycles on them months were so long so i was going on cd30 and AF was coming in at cd45 its too early..

xxxxxx

Getting it in black & white is very difficult even though you suspected. Let yourself be down for a bit and then go forward.

On the positive side, you've not wasted a year or more with the clock ticking and now you know you can go forward. I think your GP needs to be commended at his willingness to help and that bodes extremely well for the future. It's often half the battle as well so you are half way there - and as Worrisome said lots and lots and lots of ladies conceive with PCOS even if they need a bit of help which you will get.

Keep looking in the right direction and it WILL happen for you and you will make a wonderful Mum.

Good Luck and let us know how the u/s goes. Also the ladies with PCOS on the LTTC board are incredibly knowledgeable with things such as diet etc so have a look around there if you haven't already.

Take care and have a relaxing weekend (hopefully sunny)

So sorry that it wasn't the result you hoped for, albeit the one you expected.

Am very glad though that your GP is willing to put you forward for an ultascan - the more information you have about what's going on for you, the better able they will be to put forward a treatment/strategy to support you.

I've been thinking of you today and am going to risk a virtual hug here (a non sparkly echinoidal one, speshully for you)

xx

I would cry if only I weren't at work.

Thanks for the encouragement, but the test was done on CD23 and my period arrived on CD26. There was no rise in temperature during the cycle. It was definitely anovulatory. That's not to say I don't EVER ovulate, but I haven't for the last 2 months.

Thanks Peardrop. My GP is very nice. She (a woman doctor! Imagine! ) is very encouraging, and I'll go back to see her once the results of the scan are in.

I'll just have to keep my chin up, keep calm and carry on.
