Pcos

Hi Girls
I went to see gyno yesterday who said i might have pcos... however i have not been told i have this yet but a scan in few weeks will show if i have!!

I therefore would like to know if you can have it but no signs of it??
The only thing is my periods there around cd40 to cd50 days and i not in any pain, i am not over weight or have acne as these are the signs that i read pcos gives you..

Just wondering you someone can clear it up for me, if you can have pcos and not know and not be in an pain..

Also can you still get pregnant with pcos or does it just take longer to get a BFP then other ladies without pcos??

Please note that none of my family memebers have it as i think it can be passed down..

Just found out I was pregnant today. We were not ttc and I have PCOS. There are plenty of women with PCOS who do not have trouble conceiving, like Victoria Beckham.

For some women it may take longer but it depends on the woman.

Good luck to you

You don't have to have pain or be over weight to have PCOS. its usually diagnosed with an aray of different symptoms just mostly amenorrhea or dysmenorrhea, weight carried in your midsection, trouble concieving, hormone levels (my only elevated hormone was my free testosterone) they take a lot of things into consideration. Have you gone to see an endocrinologst?

I asusme you mean a gyno?? Yeah went yesterday there sending me for a internal scan in few weeks. Had all hormones tests done all ok but cause i have longish cycle from 40 to 50 days she said it might be pcos and asked if it ran in the family which it doesnt.. but when i read on the internet it said most people have symtons like over weight, acne, loss of hair and will have had problems from their first period but i dont seem to have any..

She said that it will be confirmed in this scan if i have it, but i was wondering if you can have it and not actually know you have it, or if you have it is it still possible to get pregnant?
xx

Thanks, the longest i have gone without a period is 60days and that was stopping birth control.. since then there around cd40 to cd47 being the longest, i have no facial hair, not been in pain or any of the symtons i have read on the net, all blood tests and hormone tests can back fine.. My gyno said they will do internal scan and it will show if there is cysts and if i have pcos.. Can i ask if your family members have it? She said it can be passed down?
xx

Yea at first i didn't think i had it but read loads about it and thats when i thought i had it. I had tests done and i think 1 came up high but not cysts. I think my mum has it but she has never been tested. The reason i say she might have it is that she has more weight on her tummy then anywhere else, facial hair, periods not normal. But she has had 4 kids and had no problems what so ever. They said 2 me if i wanted 2 have children just to go back to the gyno just 2 be on the records but there might not be any problem in having children. Some women have it worse then others. I think i'm lucky not having any cysts. I only had a scan like what u have when ur preg not a internal 1 tho. I have just come off the pill and i'm wait 4 AF to come or if i am pregnant. But as my periods are not normal its hard 4 me 2 get to excited about having a BFP cos i haven't got a clue. Keep us updated tho hun. luv becci xx
