? about the thin OPK tester strips and the line you need on them ...

I have been testing with the thin OPK strips - to show you are ovulating the one that shows up needs to be the same or darker than the control line.

Anyway, up until now there has been nothing or very little shading on the line you need. Today however (and I am due to ovulate) the line is now about half the colour it needs to be. Does this mean I am getting near ovulation, or does it not mean anything at all? Does the darker the line mean the nearer you are?

Many thanks!

I am driving myself crazy here as my cycles are not as irregular as they should be and I thought I would ovulate on Tues but nothing on the OPK nor temps (still around 36.3) tho I think the EWCM is starting to come now.

It sounds as though ovulation could be on the way. I know there's lots of advice on here to start testing twice a day once the line starts to appear or gets a bit darker, that way you are more likely to catch the surge. Good luck hun.

Keep testing... they might get darker and you might ovulate later than you think you do.....

Also for the first month I used them I only ever got a line about half as dark as the control line, even though I am pretty sure I ovulated. Last month I definitely got a positive as the test line was darker than the control line for 3 days in a row!!!

Keep trying hun, Im sure you are ovulating... Also, do you know what sensitivity the strips you are using are????
They might not be sensitive enough to pick up on your ovulation.

Good luck.xxx

Hi. I'm ovulating right now, got a PEAK reading on my fertility monitor this morning and I could see a dark line on the monitor stick, had O pains all day. But the cheapie OPK's never give me anything darker than in these pics. They're taken yesterday and today. I count them as positive, but every woman is different and some get dark lines on the cheapies.

Thankyou for posting that pic, I had convinced myself that I hadnt ovulated this month as I never got a positive on an OPk I just had plenty that look like the ones you posted. So perhaps im still in with a chance this month!
