OH's...

How interested is everyone's OH about babies and preg. at this stage? Mine doesnt seem all that interested at the minute, but i think he's not getting his hopes up since we only just started ttc... he would still rather watch south park than baby documentaries I was wondering if everyone else's partner is not interested in watching baby programs and looking at baby stuff yet? xx

Hi, my OH and I have been TTC for about 7 months and this is the first month he has taken any interest at all. He isn't quite at the stage of watching documentaries or joining BnB but he has started asking questions about the whole process. I also left a a book on conception and pregnancy in his bedside table!!! I know he read it cos he came running downstairs one evening screaming, he had gone straight to the pages on giving birth and there were graphic photos, he said he would never sleep properly again having seen them . I did inform him that we were only interested in the first 20 pages of the book for now, so he would do good to just read that bit!!!!
My OH doesn't want to get too involved otherwise it will end up taking over our lives, if he takes a back seat then we can't both get obsessed about it, which I do understand. He knows what I am like and if he gives me the all clear to talk to him about it 24/7 then I would, so I am kind of glad he doesn't. It means that our relationship isn't revolving around TTC. We do talk about it, of course, but not all the time.
Give your OH some time to get used to the idea, and to be honest if it takes you a while to get ur then he is more likely to get involved as he will realise it isn't a given and that it does take time and effort from both of you to get what you want!

Good luck and to you X

Its pretty much life as normal for my hubby, except for the increased amount of he is getting! We tend to be that way in our relationship about most things though- I am the one who organizes things and tends to make the decisions, he is very laid back & just leaves me to get on with things. He wants us to have a baby, its just not an obsession for him.

DH is actually quite into it. He wasn't before I got pregnant with Brady and then he was so into it, like worse than me. Now hes still the same, I think its because he knows more about it, he gets really excited when it comes up to testing time!
