Please explain!

Can somebody clarify this for me...

When using OPK to determine when you are going to ovulate, you are having your "surge" when the test line becomes darker then the control line. This means you will ovulate in 12-24 hours normally correct?

So while you ovulate, will the tests still be positive and detect a "surge" the entire time you ovulate, and the surge then is gone and the tests become negative...

-or-

Do the tests only stay positive and detect a surge UNILL you release the egg and then as soon as the egg is released do the tests start fading and going negative?

So I guess what I am asking, is if my tests are still positive for more then 24 hours, does this mean my egg has not yet been released?

I hope this made scene.. im confusing myself even more typing it up! LOL

As far as I understand, even if the egg has been released you still have LH in your system so you could continue getting a postive until it dies down. I may be wrong, but thats what I have been told. Just like if you have a m/c and you take a pregnancy test right after it would still come up postive because the hormones are still present in your body.

So there is no 100 percent way to really know your egg was released. I think we need to come with egg timers that ding or something! LOL

Too funny! That would be helpful though. I would just assume once you get a positve that you need to get on top of things and make a baby! Dont stress too much over the exact timing of your egg releasing.

to you!

btw, where in wa are you located?
