Relevance of PreNatal Vitamins

I've noticed that a lot of girls that are TTCing have started taking prenatal vitamins. What is the benefit of taking them while TTC?

The minute we told our family dr. we were TTC she advised me to take a pre-natal vitamin, which I had already been doing. I believe the benefit is for that between the time you become pregnant and find out you are pregnant you are taking the vitamins, especially the folic acid, which is really important in the early development of your baby.

My doc didn't recommend I start any. He just told me to start taking folic acid. Should I start them on my own?? I take a regular daily viatmin, plus the folic acid. If I should start on my own, can you guys recommend any, please do.

I would talk to your dr. about it, he does have you on folic acid which is good and is probably enough. I take the cheapy walmart brand, equate I think it is.
