| ov tests: no lines, faint lines and definite lines So can someone tell me why some people get faint lines on the ov test, but other people get no line? Both are negative, as it states on the pack that unless the test line is as dark or darker than the control line, then it is negative.
I did a test on day 8 and there was no line, or at least I couldn't see one. I have just done one today as it is day 10, and yes it is early in the morning and I should have waited until later, but I was desperate! Hehe. The test did work as the control line came up nice and clear, and then a faint test line came up.
I don't understand why some women get a faint line and others get no line, when the test is negative either way? | | | | Status: Offline

| Argh, that's a bummer. You just came off the pill, though, didn't you? I am not due until 7th April or around then. Only CD10.
I have read of lots of people getting this faint line, but I don't know why it happens? If it's negative then surely there's only one way of that showing and that is EITHER a faint line OR no line. Having two ways of showing it just sets people up for a fall! I don't understand! Doh! | | | | Status: Offline

| I have had both: no line and faint line. I find the earlier I do the test I get nothing and then it tends to fade in towards O. Not sure if this helps???!!!! Good luck anyway. I did use them and got pregnant first time ( but was ectopic.)

| Thanks to both for answers.
mazza, this is what I was thinking. As I am on CD10 and got the first faint line today, I wondered whether it was getting darker as my cycle moved on. However, the leaflet just says 'a faint line is a negative and should be disregarded' or something along those lines. | | | | Status: Offline

| I always wonder this. Does the faint line appearing mean I'm getting closer to O? Its so stupid, it annoys me, they should be simple -1 line negative 2 lines positive. Like a hpt. It just confuses me! Let's hope we get a dark test line soon! | | | | Status: Online

| I know its says disregard, but evey month I have tried this is what happens (with me anyway). I have had positives too and its a gradual build up.
I know its annoying but I would keep plodding away. Its well worth it when you get a juicy big positive! | | | | Status: Offline

| I am worried I am not going to get the positive, which is why I think I am being a worry arse over the faint line. I am convinced almost completely that I do not ovulate.
I am also very stressed out atm due to work stuff, so that won't be helping. | | | | Status: Offline

Up until this month i also had a faint line about 36 hours before i got a clear positive.
Am not sure that i am a good example this month as i have had positives on CD12, CD15, CD17 & CD18 so god knows whats going on with me right now. I did get a faint line before the first positive on CD10 though. | | | | Status: Offline
