I think it would be to early for that because at best i would be 6DPO i think. Its kinda hard to judge this month. Originally i thought it may just be a long surge but now i think there is defo somthing wrong. Will be testing on the 31st which is 1 day after AF is due so will know more then.

I know there is something wrong especially with the symptoms that i have had over the last couple of days.

Anyway,

You should not be disheartened by your faint line i think its all about timing and catching that surge.

The hormone that the O tests pick up on, LH, is always present in our body. However, it is a surge in the LH that preceeds ovulation, which is why the presence (faint line) is not a positive, it has to be at levels high enough to register as dark as the control line to spur ovulation.

Some ladies are lucky enough to have a gradual build up of LH, so they get even more advanced warning. Others have no line at all until the surge, and then boom, get the positive. The hormone levels also fluctuate during the month, so if you get faint line and then nothing, do not be concerned. Keep plugging away. If you do notice the faint line starting to darken, you may want to start testing twice a day, as the surge may not be caught testing only 24 hours.

Since you're concerned that you're not ovulating, you may want to look into temperature charting as well. LH tests (if you can catch the surge) confirms that your body is getting ready for ovulation, but tracking your waking temperature will confirm that ovulation was actually successful after the fact.

I went through 20 test strips last month, but finally caught the surge (8 days after I thought it would come). I had no lines, then faint lines, then no lines, then faint lines, then it started to darken daily until the positive.

Good luck. Hope you O soon!

amerikiwi has it down pat. All women have LH present in their body at all times, but sometimes more than others and some women have more than others. Forxample i can get a faint line at any point in my cycle. I can even get a line 60% or 70% as dark as the control and not be ovulating. I am not one of those lucky women that have a fade-in pattern but I do ovulate naturally, so it's completely normal and nothing to panic over at all.

Just to confuse the matter more I never got a clear positive. It drove me batty. The closest I came was almost as dark, but not quite as dark, as the control. However, o pain and BBT charting reassured me that I was ovulating. For some reason opks just didn't pick up a really defined surge for me. However, I did tend to have a fade in, fade out pattern. I would start to get a line and it would get darker then lighter again. The darkest line always corresponded to my ovulation day (confirmed by BBT charting).

I have noticed with Internet cheapies i will get only ONE line when its neg then it will start gettin lighter just before surge.. With Answer brand there is always at least two lines one usually lighter if that makes sense.. I usually only see one positive because have always had a short surge
